How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Easy self-check-in process. Communication with the host was smooth, the location is a bit from the center, but there are bus stops very close to the apartment. Love everything about the apartment and it was clean

Wifi did not work at all for us. When we contacted the reception we were just told that it was working for them, with no other effort to help solve the problem.
Great for the price, large room, large modern bathroom

I stayed twice at CiaMi, the first time there was a room on the ground floor with a very scarse bathroom and shower which I didnt like. The second time there was a nicer room on the 1st floor.

The host doesn't speak english. We could manage to communicate through google translate though.
Great location, we could left our luggages there without any cost. Easy online check-in.

Although I liked the self check-in process, I didn't like to have to insert my credit card again in an unknown website to pay the tourist tax. They sent many emails, and this process could be smoother.
The room was comfortable, in a nice quiet area of Milan, easily reachable by metro and bus. It's a really good value for money. I liked the whole organisation of the place, the presence of vending machines, etc. The room and the toilet were clean.

We stayed twice in this place and everything was great – all you need in terms of facilities, comfy rooms, etc. Despite the fact that it's not directly in the city center transportation is very convenient – you can get there by bus, tram or subway quite fast. Quiet surroundings as well – we came back late at night a few times but it felt very safe. So yeah, all good, great place to stay in Milan! 🙂

Location is not so close. Closest Bicocca metro station is 10-15mins walking, and from there expect 25-30min travel to centre. Room had nothing, one goofy looking chair and one regular chair. The buzzing of ventilation in bathroom couldn't be turned off. It buzzed all night.
The automated check in is quite straight forward and easy. Room was clean.

There was no electric kettle in the room to get a coffee while preparing but in the lobby area with only 50c you get what you want. Even a bottle of water. Prices are too cheap in this hostel. The only issue I had is that only 2 sachets of shampoo and 2 soaps for two adults for 2 nights. Shower was too small. If you are a big person, you won't fit or don't take a proper wash. Everything else was nice
The location is good. Close to a bus stop with a bus every 10-15 mins. 1 min walk to a cafeteria with a very excellent crossiants and for only 3 eur you get a coffee and a crossiant. I like the area !! Hostel was clean.

the blankets were thin and not long enough for the both of us, no restaurant because it was closed for the holidays, a very small shower where you can barely turn to wash yourself
very clean and allergy-free room so that was great for me! self-checkin with very clear instructions, staff answered all our questions and we managed to do laundry too!

Check-in phone call didn't offer a response. However, a physical key was easily accessible. A little more information about the locality would have been helpful. For example, a real asset in having a coffee shop about 50 metres away. Also, there is parking available on the road outside the property - although of course, this could not be guaranteed.
Very basic - but all that was required. Probably more comfortable for a solo stay than for a couple.
