Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaUnfortunately our family’s experience at this hotel was not very pleasant. First of all, after you arrive on the docks of the island, there is no sign that says “hotel”, so we walked around trying to find it. We called the reception twice and the security guards responsible for the “night reception” didn’t help us in any way. We eventually found them inside the building , after more than an hour of searching for the hotel reception. During the night there is no receptionist, just security guards responsible with the night reception. We did not feel safe at all, given the fact that the security guard responsible to give us our rooms first only wanted to give us 1 room instead of 2 rooms. We booked 2 rooms for our family. Afterwards, they gave us rooms in 2 VERY SEPARATE buildings. All the hotel buildings are separate, situated in a park, poorly lit during the night. After A LOT of clarification they gave us rooms in the same building. Unfortunately, during this entire process, the security guards responsible with the “night reception” ridiculed us and laughed at us. They laughed at us even when we asked them for 1 umbrella because outside it was raining very hard (they refused to give us umbrellas). The bathrooms were very dirty. The showers had hair in them and the toilets were dirty... The lights in the room don’t work, they were very dark. The waterbus that takes you to the island doesn’t come very often so we advise not going at night/evening. We arrived after 12am in the night and felt unsafe, tired, confused - and the nightstaff had no real intention of helping us, instead just laughing. Otherwise, the morning receptionists were very kind to us, but it was a little bit late…
The park outside the hotel buildings is very nice. Reception during the day is very nice! Breakfast ok.

SwitzerlandThe reception staff members are not very friendly or welcoming. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant, included in the price, lacks variety and is more like a canteen. It is not very balanced in terms of nutritional value and would benefit from offering local products.
Superb and enchanting location. A haven of peace to recharge your batteries, just a stone's throw from Venice, which is easily accessible by a regular shuttle service. The rooms are simple but have everything you need; the bedding is a little old but has its charm. The bar is well organised and offers a varied selection of snacks. Excellent value for money for the location during the busy tourist season in Venice.

United StatesThe air conditioner broke (and the degree outside is over 35℃). We were told the whole building did, too. The front was kind, and he suggested we change to another room; we have quite a lot of belongings, and it's hard to move under such a temperature. And it would be best if you were careful of the mosquitos.
It's quiet and safe. The hotel is located on an isolated island, so most of the people around are tourists who also live at this hotel. You need to take line 20 to go out and back to the hotel, but since we needed to buy bus tickets for the Venice sightseeing, it did not mean extra costs. And you can enjoy the sunset at the pier. The breakfast is fabulous.

ChinaThe room was comfortable, though the bed and shower were on the smaller side. The island is lush with plants, which adds to its beauty, but also attracts quite a few insects, so beware of the mosquitos—they were relentless during my stay.
This tiny island, just 2 km from Venice's city center, offers a unique and peaceful escape. It's connected by the No. 20 ferry line, which runs only two ferries per hour, making it feel even more secluded. The island has just one hotel, one campus, one small museum, one restaurant, and one café—all of which share spaces in a charming and quirky way. One moment, you're walking through the hotel, and the next, you find yourself on campus, which adds a fun and unexpected twist to the experience.

FinlandMy keycard broke down for 3 times during 3-night stay. No blankets, only plaids. You have to get up early to take fresh fruits at the breakfast. Transport connection with Lido is weird, the waterbus station is too far from other waterbuses' stations. I went to Lido with a change in San Marco.
Comfy and clean rooms. Nice park around the hotel. Beautiful view from a window. Big soft round bed and a huge closet.
