The interior of the building is exceptional, as it shows a bygone area of Sicilian architecture; very big apartments with high and decorated ceilings and windows with the typical balconies. It is very spacious and decorated in the same original style. The host and his family are very charming and helpful. It is about a 15 minute walk to the center, but there are also buses. We often rent accommodations in cities, but this we would classify as a rare find.

Property is located within a 15 minute stroll of the main centre. A beautifully presented property. Stunning original features … ceiling mouldings ; flooring 👌 Comfortable - plenty of choice to relax on either sofas or sofa bed plus beds. Beds really comfortable. Kitchen fully equipped. Washing machine and powders provided ⭐️⭐️. Up cycled use of items for some furnishings. Very comfortable ; well presented and perfect in every way and felt secure. Reactive and helpful owner providing tips if requested. Note : two flights of stairs to property.

We didn't like leaving! Its a tight climb to the upstairs bedroom...but who cares as the downstairs area was so nice and huge and classic Catania. Its about a 15 minutes walk to a street full of restaurants and maybe 20/30 minutes to the Cathedral so if you don't like walking I guess that might be a problem

we loved this apartment in a classic old building in Catania. It is 200 years old and shows its age from the street but then you enter through big doors off a narrow and busy street into a private courtyard, go up private stairs and enter a beautifully preserved and very spacious apartment wonderfully furnished with period book cases, a beautiful mosaic floor, high ceilings , a sitting area, and "office" area, lounges, a huge dining table...and so on. Its a " real Catania experience" and at one point a tourist wandered in when the gate was open to admire the courtyard. The hosts are an educated and cultured family and we met 3 generations all very nice people. Parking off street very safe and the apartment was quiet . We also found Catania a terrific base for visiting Mt Etna and Villa Romana and enjoyed the Bellini concert in the very lovely Badia di Saint Agathe Chruch

The carpark was a little tight for our SUV - needed a bit of maneuverings to get in and out - and also a bit expensive - I feel it could have been included in the room cost, since it is a private carpark within the building. Most of the plug points are old style 3 pin style and none of the 2 pin adaptors work here. Its only in the newly renovated kitchen and loft bedroom that the standard 2 pin plugs work.

Host is very communicative, and it was very easy to collect the keys even though we got a bit delayed in reaching. The home is beautiful in a heritage building quite near the city centre. The double ceiling and huge rooms give a very grand feeling. The kitchen is well equipped and very modern.

I don’t want to leave this gorgeous apartment. It’s huge! Balconies galore and much much more! If you’re booking a trip to Catania - look no further than this majestic historical and very proud building standing tall in the centre of Catania. Beautiful antiques and a sense of lost time whispering around the cathedral ceilings. Book it now although it’s rarely available as it’s so wonderful!

The apartment is light and airy with amazing high decorative ceilings. It is well fitted out with everything you need (cooking and washing facilities). The location is a little out of the main touristy areas but a flat 15 min walk to the centre. The parking (paid) on site was a bonus - although a little squeezy to get in with our biggish car! Alessandro was a fantastic host (ably assisted by Gaetano his lovely dad who grew up in the building and lives in the apartment across the stairs). Alessandro helped us with transport bookings and some great restaurant suggestions.

Nothing, it was perfect

One of the highlights of our trip. The apartment is even more beautiful than the pictures and the hosts could not have been nicer. They met us on arrival to let us in the off street parking (which was just EURO 10 per night) and is a god send in Catania where parking can be very difficult! The hosts also gave us plenty of great recommendations for bars and restaurants and you are only about a 10 minute walk from the center. We absolutely loved our stay there!

I have read reviews for hundreds of apartments and have never seen hosts consistently spoken about so favorably. Now, having experiencing the warmth of Alessandro and Cristina's hospitality, I completely concur with my fellow travelers. They also extended appreciated acts of kindness. Beyond its hosts, the apartment itself is quite the experience. This lovingly maintained period apartment with its period furnishings is a destination and is more inviting than some of the palaces I paid to tour. The apartment is proximate to the many interesting sights of Catania, including a palace that even rivals Alessandro and Cristina's apartment. Our hosts, accommodation and location ensured a memorable stay in Catania.

We loved being in this older (800 years) building with all its charm. Alessandro has done a good job with the renovations / upgrades to make two comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms - the older, main floor room and the loft above the kitchen. There are stairs - to the apartment and more to the loft bedroom. If you are okay with these (we were) you will enjoy the high ceilings and beauty of the architecture and old world style. Comfortable living room. Small but functional kitchen which worked well for our breakfasts and eat in meals. Shops for basic groceries nearby. Restaurants in walking distance. Alessandro and his family were welcoming and super helpful. Parking available.
