We paid 120 euros for one night. As it is December, the owner informed us in advance that heating would be charged separately (5-20 euros). When we returned the key, they wanted to charge 28 euros, even though we never set the heating above 20 degrees and used it only from 4 PM to 10:30 AM. We feel this is excessive.

The place is beautiful, and the house has a wonderful atmosphere. The owner of the house welcomed us kindly.

Wouldn’t recommend it for families with small children but otherwise it was a great experience

Very unique and historic setting. The house was beautifully decorated and very nicely done. Stunning views.

Great location and facilities, a bit scary road up to it.

The road up to it can be scary, it is 5km from Tirano as advice for future guests. Also, you must check in at a restaurant in Tirano first and make sure that you buy supplies before driving up the mountain. The nearby restaurant is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday's.

Fabulous views, good facilities with everything we needed.

Parking was a long way away but free. You can unload closer to apartment but not park near it because it’s in the historic part.

Lovely ,warm ,homely and clean traditional apartment. Nice kitchenware and well looked after.Extensive views of valley below . Close start to the Bernina Pass

    Perfect little mountain escape.

The house is small and there are some very quirky stairs so only really suitable for those who are very able bodied. The washing machine doesn’t work, even though it is listed as available and the second bedroom doesn’t have any curtains.

A typical little mountain house but perfect for our few days of rest from interrailing. The views, especially from the terrace were wonderful and ever changing. The nearby restaurant (less than 5 minutes) was perfect and we ate there for dinner both nights. You could also eat there for lunch too. It is a destination restaurant so do book ahead, though we were able to do this on the day we arrived. All we brought up the mountain was some breakfast provisions and some locally cheeses and crackers with some wine and prosseco.

There was no washer and drying even though it is indicated on the property page. Not a huge deal but might be worth it to remove those items.

The view and authentic feel was our favorite! Access to trails nearby and wonderful restaurants also close by.

The owners are very kind and friendly, always willing to help with whatever you need. Bruno was our contact on this vacation and he is such a kind person! We enjoyed very much the vacation house, located almost on top of one of Tirano’s hills, in the very traditional little village of Roncaiola. The view from the balcony and the terrace is absolutelly stunning, and the little house is so cozy and pitoresque!

We had to check in at a restaurant and told we must pay then we will be told how to enter property.we were told it was walkable but we had cases and were tired so asked for taxi.a taxi driver arrived and we still weren't told how to get in. We were horrified when we were driven 15 minutes up a mountain and the taxi driver had the keys.the access to the house was lethal. I rang booking.com who cut-off after 70 minutes.i rang the host who wouldnt do anything to help..we had no food or drink as they didnt think to tell us it was so remote so we decided to try get off the mountain so walked to restaurant which was closing but the owner kindly rang us a taxi.we were shocked when the same driver turmed up and drove down the mountain at speed and asked us for the keys..we told him wed hand them in after we found alternative hotel. When we got down a lady was waiting and told us nicholas was on his way to sort things.i asked how Nicholas knew we were coming and she said id spoke to him.i said no i didnt.we waited for Nicholas thinking he was sorting refund or a room but the same woman came out and handed us a reciept.we think the taxi driver had told them we were on the way down.

parking is a 300m from house with quite a few stairs-could be a bit difficult with a big luggage. the drive up is a bit long and tricky, because of the narrow mountain roads. but thats what you expect when staying in an old village.

view from the terrace was spectacular. everything needed was provided in the kitchen and bedroom. Very spacious - 6 people could easily fit. very quiet and private in a small charming old village on top of mountain.
