Beautiful, historic ‘cave’ apartment in the historic city of Matera. Lovely big space with everything you could possibly need for your stay and unexpected extras. Location is fantastic- especially for catching the extremely convenient shuttle bus in and out of the historic area to the modern part of town where the car was parked. Left the car on the street in a free parking area- was no problem, and steps from the shuttle bus service.

Nothing! We only had one issue with the hot water. In one the rooms it wasn't coming out regardless of the different ways some travel companions tried. However, our host was very responsive and she brought a technician the next day to figure it out and the water worked perfectly the rest of our stay. On the other room the hot water will ran out a bit quicker than expected but it wasn't enough of an issue.

We liked everything! Both vacation homes were stunning. They wow us in person. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the lighting fixtures were perfect and soft enough to allow us to rest and relax. Our host was also very flexible with us regarding our arrival time. She was very friendly and cooperative with what we needed. And the location was excellent!

The only, only thing (and this doesn’t take away from the experience), is the window above the front door can’t be covered so we felt like people could see in. We ended up popping a towel over it to block out the view haha

Wow, what an absolutely beautiful apartment. It’s so spacious, even if it’s a studio. We had everything we needed in the apartment, from a selection of vino (you pay for it), complimentary tea, biscuits, croissants! Shower was great. Kitchen had everything you need. It was so comfortable that we wish we stayed longer. And though it’s off the main strip in Sassi, we didn’t hear any noise at night. If you want to stay in a beautiful cave structure, I would definitely recommend this place.

Every thing and each detail. The cave style of Sassi of Matera, provided an unforgettable experience and outstanding moments. The place attendant was caring, quite responsive, attentive and customer caring. In fact, this particular Hotel’s has made our stay of high standards. We loved the unique stone structure and setup, in integration with other nicely hand crafted decoration and furnishings of the room, which were in tune with the City’s rich culture, Matera is well known for. To my knowledge; the nearby shop sells some of those art pieces, which are handcrafted by the hotel’s attendant. I bought many of those great artworks. Although it’s the first time, this place will always be our first choice of preference whenever repeating the visit to Sassi.

Heads up that you can't really park in the Sassi districts (not a bad thing, just a "so you know"). You'll have to walk about 10 minutes with your bags, but it's a pretty walk :)

Probably (no definitely) the most beautiful room we've ever stayed in! The room is bigger than it looks in the pictures and is in the ideal location. There's a great cafe right outside and it's in the middle of a beautiful Sassi district. We couldn't believe we were in the right place as we were walking to the location. The bed is so comfy and the shower is amazing. The owner was also super helpful, especially since we had some difficulties related to a surprise G7 summit that coincided with our visit.

We loved this property. Sabrina was very helpful and accommodating and the room is a beautiful authentic cave experience but with all the modern conveniences. The Wifi is excellent. The location is right in the center of the historic zone (Sassi district) so we parked in a paid parking garage called Parking Via Vena, 700 meters from our apartment. We had easy access to all the sights, shops, and restaurants.

The cave room was the most unique and special travelling experience that we have had in a very long time. The interior design of the room and bathroom, especially the lighting and attention to detail, was in a completely different class. Located in the heart of the Sassi di Matera, the cave apartment was beautiful, clean and spacious. Sabrina, our host was amazing - she made sure we had the right location, meeting us to ensure we were comfortably checked in and all that we need. The kitchenette was wonderful and stocked with enough water for our stay, juices, coffee capsules and small bites. We would highly recommend this place & would love to come back again!
