Dated interior. Lounge extremely uncomfortable and the water in shower recess pooled and did not drain quickly. Noticed this in early reviews also.

Lake front location with all necessary facilities. However for this you need to continually use the steep stairs from the lake to the town centre. Not a problem if you are fit and have only carry-on luggage.

The sofa and kitchen chairs weren't very comfortable. US visitors need to be aware that plumbing and electricity in Varenna can be quirky. The shower drain tends to back up.

The location is amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with views of Lake Como. Alberto met us at the church square to guide us to the apartment (the streets are pedestrian only and finding the apartment without his assistance would have been difficult). Alberto gave us an excellent bottle of wine as a welcome gift. The apartment is close to very good restaurants. The apartment was spacious for 2 people. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The washer and dryer worked well and were very helpful.

Wonderful location, a close walk to everything we wanted to see. Great communication with wonderful hosts who gave us a ride from the train station to the apartment and left us a bottle of wine. Apartment was very large had everything we needed. We loved the beautiful terrace that overlooked the lake.

The Booking.com listing should be more clear about parking. Parking is available at the public lot about 5-10 minutes walk from the aparement. It costs roughly 20 eros per day.

The location was perfect. Our chief concern was that the apartment would be too noisy at night given its proximity to restaurants/bars, but this wasn't an issue at all. The town gets quiet fairly early and wakes up late. We spent hours just sitting on the deck and soaking in the fantastic view. In our opinion, it would be tough to find a better location for exploring Lake Como.

A nice size apartment overlooking Lake Como. This place is in the center of the small town of Varenna. The owners were very nice, we were even picked-up at the train station.

Not a single thing could be improved.

Everything about this was perfect. The communication before I arrived was helpful and friendly. The host met us at the train station and drove us to the apartment. The apartment itself is in a perfect location with a view that is exceptional. We spent hours just looking across the water. The apartment is well stocked and everything you need is there including a washer AND a dryer (SO RARE in Europe). Plenty of restaurants are nearby and every single person we encountered was lovely.

Could be very busy during summer and the noise may be an issue with the restaurants, etc so close to the accommodation. Heading in any direction from the apartment means up or downhill on cobblestones so if you have mobility issues this could an issue. Small hot water system. Cooking utensils ie saucepans, etc all well used. No proper breakfast/dessert bowls (we used cups for our breakfast cereal).

Right on the waterfront. Good size although not enough space in the bedroom for two suitcases without using the wardrobe. Reasonable size kitchen. Large lounge dining area with views over the lake. Good size bathroom with washing machine and dryer. Small shower. Parking would be an issue if you have a car. The owner collected us from the railway station and gave us a quick tour and pointed out some things to see and do. Be warned that during winter many places are closed. Yes would stay again.

The couch was very uncomfortable and kitchen not stocked well. The apartment could use a cleaning and new furniture. Please be aware it’s challenging getting to the apartment from the train station with large luggage.

The location can’t be beat. Beautiful view of the lake. The host was friendly and helpful.

The kitchen was poorly stocked. Not even a cheese grater. There are few bowls and inadequate saucepans. The bed was uncomfortable, and the apartment was filthy as were saucepans, a stove top coffee maker, and some dishes. Don't even consider cleaning the top of the picture frames.

The view from the balcony is outstanding. Plenty of restaurants nearby and 2 limited grocery stores.
