Heat did not work. Had to plead with the property manager to bring us a space heater. She finally agreed. If you don’t have a driver, you will have to find your way to pick up keys at another location, and only within a 2-3 hour period. If you arrive earlier or later, you are charged a hefty fee for them to meet you at the apartment with a key. Just extremely inconvenient. then expected to find your own way to the apartment. Our driver insisted we could walk from the office but it is cobblestone streets, dragging your luggage uphill. after a very long journey it was not what we wanted to do. We paid a pretty penny for the driver to stop at the office for the key then drive us to the apartment. So we insisted he do so. Glad we did it’s just very inconvenient You are given a manual to fix the blown circuit breakers in a room outside the building. You can only use so many outlets at a time or they blow. The microwave and coffee pot had to share one outlet, and you had to move them around on the counter to do that.

There are no bedside lights in the bedroom or side lamps in the lounge. If you wish to read a book in bed you have to use the very bright overhead light. There are no facilities to Recycle. There are instructions in a handbok but they are not accurate for this apartment. There are weddings on most nights at nearby hotels so guests may hear some music until about midnight.

I loved being by the square in this beautiful town. The locals were wonderfully friendly, and I loved all the restaurants. But the best thing about this place is the location..

Only issue was the A/C is in the main area and does not transfer into the bedroom. Had an issue with the door lock and was locked out for a while late at night.

No Breakfast with this unit. The bakery above the unit was very good as was the coffee/ wine/beer/ misc. store.

The apartment was in a great location, close to stores, restaurants, bakeries, parks, and the ferry to Bellagio. It was light and bright, very clean and comfortable.

There was a bit of a gas smell coming from the water heater and the wifi was a bit patchy. An ice cube tray would be a welcome addition. The shower was an oddly cramped configuration that had lots of unnecessary bells and whistles but no space. It was impossible to use it without getting your hair wet so it would be helpful to provide some shower caps.

The location was perfect and it was lovely to be able to see the lake from our bedroom and living room windows. The apartment was comfortable and had most things you need for an extended stay. It was good to be able to watch a bit of Netflix on a rainy day. We didn't use the sofa bed but the main bed was comfortable.

There was a lot of ants in the bathroom because of poor sealing. Also, the switch to turn on the hot water was hard to find, but we found it eventually in the kitchen.

The location was absolutely amazing. Varenna was a great town to stay in while at lake como and the view from the apartment was lovely. The hosts were very helpful and efficient too!

In floor heating controls were locked on. Owner became aware during our stay, but needed time to readjust. This made apartment very warm on arrival. Weather temperatures rose into the 80’s , but between opening windows and use of air conditioner the apartment was able to stay comfortably cool.

It is hard to give high ratings to my experience at Casa Magnolia due to the fact the water heater (boiler) was broken upon arrival, and my family had to take cold showers for the 3 out of out of the 5 nights we stayed there. The experience was beyond frustrating, having to deal with workers coming in and out on our Romantic Holiday. A new boiler was installed and the process took 8 hours for which we stayed outside the home. While I understand these things can happen, it is inexcusable that the proprietor Varenna Holidays SRL never offered some type of credit for our troubles. I asked if anything can be done and their answer is that they are replacing the boiler in such short window and I basically have to be appreciative about it. I have stayed in properties all over the world in different continents, but have never witnessed such arrogant and dismissive attitude by a property management. I took my family to this home due to its high 4 star ratings and reputation, gladly paying the high cost of the property, and yet the treatment was that worse than what one would get in a third world country. Very disappointed and advise future guests to think twice before booking properties offered by Varenna Holidays SRL.

Could have used paper towels, dishwasher pods. Cable/tv cut out constantly, a bit irritating.

Very helpful hosts , prompt communication. Great view, many windows. Comfortable bed, quiet, white noise machine nice.

as an American who has unfortunately grown accustomed to heavy ac at nights; the unit was positioned in the living room and not the bedroom so we ended up leaving it on the coldest setting the entire trip. (late may) the floors of the bedroom were noticeable warmer(right side of the bed closest to the wall). I think maybe the apartment below has an oven or large appliance in that spot. this is a very nit pick. this wouldn’t even be noticeable to most travelers. a fan would solve this as the living room got icey cold.

perfect location. hidden gem. pictures just don’t do it justice. inside was very clean and simple. 3 min walk to food drink, 6-8 min walk to the ferry.
