How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Our room was enormous and beautiful. There was convenient parking (paid) very near. Everyone was so friendly. The breakfast was delicious with lots of homemade cakes and pastries. Great coffee too. There were bikes we could borrow. We loved this hotel so much! It could not have been better.

The shower seal strip tended to come loose, so the bathroom floor sometimes got a little wet and the door didn’t close completely. Breakfast was very good, everything tasted fresh and delicious. A few savoury extras like tomatoes or avocado would have been nice, though with the number of guests it’s understandable that offering more could also lead to more waste.
The staff are exceptionally welcoming and attentive, and the entire place feels elegant and thoughtfully designed. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of town, with almost everything within a 10-minute walk.

Nothing. except an elec]vator, but we handled the situation.
It was fabulous!!!!! with no elevator and I was on a walker, the entire staff went unusualluy out of tj\heir way to make us comfortable. Time gave up his beautfil library suite so Connie and I could have more space, and he had the smaller room next door. Very nice of him. The entire staff was just wonderful and courteous, and the breakfast was very delicious. We will def, recommenda your beautiful place to others. Thanks for your hospitality!

Aircon is a bit weak in the very hot weather. However a decent fan was also provided.

The hot room
Everything was just perfect! The lovely ladies that run the show were fantastic! The food was absolutely amazing! Wish we had stayed longer. Our room was fabulous, a bit hot, but tis the season!

Casa Gigi was a beautiful place in lovely Ravenna. We had the suite for my husband and I and our adult girls and it was perfect. Stylish, spacious, everything we needed. Breakfast was exceptional and the lovely ladies that ran it couldn’t have been nicer.

Beautiful property, rooms had everything we needed and were very clean. Comfortable bed. The host was very kind and helpful. We were able to easily borrow bikes for the day. Breakfast was delicious & made in house! Will definitely stay again & recommend to anyone going to Ravenna.

Beautiful B&B in the heart of Ravenna, .4 miles from the train station, walkable to the local sights (churches, murals, Dante area), down the street from a market and restaurants. The room was comfortable and very spacious. Wonderful breakfast and friendly staff. Easy access during reception off hours.

The airconditioning did not work very well, especially with a room on the top floor this is important in Italian heat! There’s no elevator. Understandable as it’s an old building, but still a pity.
Location was perfect, staff super friendly, breakfast really good, atmosphere in the beautiful city palace was very well done. In other words, very much recommended!

The location of this beautiful hotel is fab! Its literally a 5 min walk into the old town which was great! The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, we were in the Suite which was beautiful! Marguerite and the owner were both there in the morning for the breakfast service - breakfast was by far the best we enjoyed during our week in Italy, all the pastries etc are made by the owner which were amazing!

Nothing really. There was a glitch in us receiving information to access the property and our room but that was quite quickly addressed and seems perhaps to have been an issue with the booking agent’s system
Beautiful interesting historic house, restored to a very high standard. All fixtures were highest quality and decor was excellent. Our suite was enormous and so comfortable! Although right in the heart of the city it was quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was really good with lots of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful

There is no elevator to go up the few flights of stairs if that is an issue for some. Just information but for us, not a problem.
Located a short 10 min walk from the train station and right beside the historic center of Ravenna, we could not have chosen a better place to spend four nights in this beautiful city in May 2025. Spacious, elegantly renovated/decorated, beautiful bathroom and endless storage allowed us to unpack and relax. Breakfast is the highlight of each day with many offerings all prepared in house. The welcoming nature of Margherita at any hour was infections and put a spring in our step to start the day. Easily could have used a day or two more here to relax at Casa Gugu and explore the seafront areas of Ravenna. Highly recommended!
