the ACs were not as efficient as expected. The single bathroom is not enough for a family of 4. There should be a washing machine moreso than a dishwasher since this is more useful for tourists. The living room needs an AC.

Overall, it was a very clean apartment which we all had for ourselves. It was conveniently located near the attractions.

AC is only available in the bedrooms. Visiting in the summer made it very hot downstairs, where the space was pretty much unusable. The bathroom is very small and the queen bed is extremely hard. Probably the hardest bed I have ever slept on. Towels are not replenished at all during your stay. We stayed 4 nights and would have had to pay for new towels if we wanted more. Check in is only available from 3-6 pm, otherwise it costs 50 euros extra to do “self check in.” Second bedroom does not have a door on it, so the room is warmer since the AC is not contained to the space.

Location was great. About a 15 minute walk (with luggage) from the train station. Keep in mind the roads are cobblestone and filled with stairs, and hard to navigate with luggage. But once in the apartment, it is very close to the lake and lots of restaurants. The ferry station is also about 5 mins away. Apartment is a good size and can accommodate 4 people easily. Hosts were responsive via WhatsApp as needed with issues that arose.

It is strange that for two nights, only one set of towels is provided. There were not enough towels and paper towels to clean up in the kitchen.

Not to say it was a problem but you need to know your companions very well as there is a frosted glass door on the bathroom and no door on the twin bedroom! You need to use the shutters to give darkness in the bedrooms but they did work well. The shower was good but don’t allow anyone to take too long or the last of your four might not get enough hot water. Maybe just my family! Ask how long it will take to reheat - we didn’t coz we weren’t that bothered! A word of caution - the town has many steep steps and cobbled alleyways so it’s not for those with mobility issues.

Location was perfect. An easy walk from the train station, walking past the rental office where we picked up the keys. Only a short walk to the ferry terminal too. The apartment is well equipped for eating in but you probably won’t want to as there are plenty of places to eat close by- and the food was excellent everywhere we ate. Book the restaurant across the alley from the apartment - fab food. We nearly missed it because it doesn’t (didn’t - it wasn’t high season) open on a Wednesday. Ask the rental staff for recommendations they were very helpful and also good in all their communication before we arrived and while we were there. Comfy beds and decent space. The images of the apartment are accurate. We would stay here again.

The beds were not the most comfortable and the shower was pretty difficult to navigate with the size and orientation of the showerhead.

The location was great! It was so easy to walk to the ferry or to the main restaurants in Varenna. We also loved staying in Varenna - so picturesque and a little less crowded! The view from the unit was fantastic and as an added bonus, we were just up the steps from our favorite gelato and almost next door to our favorite rooftop restaurant for dinner. It was also super easy to communicate the Varenna Holidays regarding our arrival time, how to get the keys, and how to find the unit.

I don’t think the property is good value for money- we stayed an extra night in Varenna somewhere else that was much cheaper with a bigger, cleaner room and superb views of the lake. The single beds in the second room are extremely uncomfortable- very soft, you sink in the middle and can feel the springs. The bed in the double room was fine. The wifi didn’t work well upstairs (where the bedrooms are) only downstream right near the router.

Excellent location, right in the heart of Varenna. Probably the best restaurant in all of Varenna is right on your doorstep. Both rooms had air con which was very much needed during our stay. Lovely staff who assisted with check in and holding our bags

Perfect location, 10 minutes walk from train station, 5 minutes to ferry. Very clean. Good air conditioning in both upstairs bedrooms. Large living room with separate kitchen. WiFi good. Recommended.

Bed was very uncomfortable. It was so firm it felt like I was sleeping on concrete. This unit is priced much higher than most rentals in Varenna. The view of the lake is only from the hallway. Extremely noisy in this location. There is a restaurant right outside the front door and the room is right off the main road where there is a lot of motorcycle traffic all day and night.

One of the bedrooms had no door. The bathroom. door dd not lock. The shower seal was completely broken, and when we advised Varenna holiday company, it was not fixed. The size of the bedrooms were very small and the drawers in dressing table were very stiff to open. We were also left 1 bath towel each for 4 night, when we asked for more, they told us we had to pay extra money. There was no washing machine to even wash the towels, This was not acceptable.
