Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We were late due to unexpected train delay to the town. Fortunately the apartment is located within a short distance from the train station. The house owner waited for us till we arrive at midnight to greet us. She was a lovely lady who decorated the house very beautifully, including the washroom. My husband and I were very impressed with the bluish design of the whole apartment. We were able to spend a full day travelling the villages of Cinque Terra by ourselves the following day comfortably.

United KingdomWe had a lovely stay here! Perfect location if visiting cinque terre, or any other cities/towns nearby as it's so close to the station. Bed was super comfy, private bathroom down the hall was immaculate. Fresh and home made pastry, focaccia and cappuccino every morning on our was a real highlight, as was the limoncello we arrived home to in the fridge each evening! Guiseppina was a lovely, charming host and we felt so comfortable at Casa Celsi - thank you!

United KingdomNothing, everything was excellent.
Guiseppina was an amazing and lovely host. We loved how close the location was to the train station and to the main town so it made travelling around very easy. The breakfast provided was great and we enjoyed having this on the balcony every morning. Honestly was one of the best trips we have had and we have Guiseppina to thank!

AustraliaIt was all very good, look out for the lift when you enter so you can take your baggage up.
Our host, Giussepina, was the loveliest most attentive person. She made the best croissants and focaccia for breakfast and her coffee was also the best I’ve had in Italy. On returning from our day there would be home made limoncello in the fridge. She made us feel so welcome and it was one of the highlights of our time in La Spezia& Cinque Terre. It was a one minute walk from the station and with the windows closed at night, you don’t hear the trains. Grazie Mille.

CanadaNo complaints about our stay. But a travel tip: Buy your Cinque Terre train pass in advance to avoid a long lineup at the La Spezia train station. Also, specify that you want the pass that allows you to walk between towns. I thought that is what we got, but found out it was for train and hiking trails only so we missed out on walking between the towns - they have people at entry points who check your pass.
Giuseppina is an amazing host. She went above and beyond, making sure our needs were met, a delicious breakfast on the balcony of our room, water and limoncello in the fridge upon arrival in the adorably decorated room. She was like a fun and caring aunt. The location of her Casa near the train station was convenient for accessing the Cinque Terre trains for sightseeing. This stay was terrific, thanks to Giuseppina.

Perfect location, close to train station and centro storico. Clean, comfortable, with 2 bottles of water in fridge and homemade limoncello. Lovely Italian breakfast on balcony. But what made my stay extra special was the warmth, kindness and generosity of Giuseppina. What a beautiful host! She made me feel like family, loaned me a beach towel and umbrella, and even gave me a gift! Memorable stay. Grazie mille Guiseppina!

United KingdomOur stay at Giuseppina’s charming B&B in La Spezia was nothing short of delightful, it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like staying at a hotel and more like visiting a beloved relative. Giuseppina was incredibly attentive, treating us to beautifully presented breakfasts served on our private balcony each morning, and even surprised us with thoughtful summer bracelets as gifts! The atmosphere was cosy, welcoming, and full of personal touches that made our stay unforgettable. Everything was simply perfect, we can’t recommend it enough!

BelgiumWe heard some strange noises on the balcony at night, but we discovered that there was a bird nesting in the plantholder :)
Guiseppina is thé best host! She welcomed us with open arms and explained everything very good. Like most tourists, we were in La Spezia to go see Cinque Terre and she explained very good how to do this and what the best options were. The same thing for Portovenere. We even got a welcoming shot of her housemade limoncello! In the morning she brings breakfast in your room whenever you are ready. If you need to leave some luggage after check-out, that's no problem either.

AustraliaAs it is sooo close to the train station, which had great advantages it also is noisy at night, though not each night. Just have ear plugs. The benefit outweighs the inconvenience for sure.
Its very close proximity to station to visit the special coastal areas and all the facilities in La Spezia, including great restaurants and nearby laundrymat that was good. Also Great shower, balcony, comfortable bed, security and host It has a few stairs to climb before you have access to a lift to the third floor.

CanadaTo be honest, the only aspect that was might be less appealing is that the bathroom is not within the room so you have to walk to it through a hallway. However, it was still our private bathroom and everything was super clean.
The best part of this stay included not only the comfort and amazing service but mostly the owner. She was the highlight of our trip and we will never forget our stay in her room. She had everything ready for us much earlier than check in time, she provided refilled water bottles in our mini fridge every afternoon after passing a long day outside. She even had homemade limoncello shots in the fridge for us ! Another great aspect was the breakfast that she made us every morning. she would have it freshly made and asked us for out time preference. We are both lactose intolerant and she went out of her way to get us lactose free milk. Overall, really really really phenomenal stay.

PortugalGreat location, around 5 min walking from the train station that leads you to cinque terre. Also, very close to the center of La Spezia. Celsi was super sweet and helpful during our stay. Impossible not to love her. The room was super comfortable and with a cute Italian romantic decoration that makes it super cozy. It was also super clean everyday. The high point was the great breakfast made by Celsi everyday at the balcony, with a great view.
