How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A gem of a place we treated ourselves to, and didn't regret it. The owners, Andrea and Lucia are going above and beyond to make your stay truly memorable. You can tell they are kind-hearted people, embodying the very idea of hospitality. The room itself was very spacious, impeccably clean, and generously equipped with all kinds of small details that make all the difference. Very comfy bed and perfect location!

Everything was great!!!
It was a great experience. He meet us outside and was easy to find. Gave a very detailed explanation of the rooms and how things work as well as detailed information about who to contact for different activities and recommendations for food. Highly recommend and would do it again.

There is no kitchen, but we didn’t intend to use it anyway with such many en great restaurants around
Best Host ever! was closed for traffic due to G7 conference. Traffic and parking were chaotic. Andrea found us a parking spot (free) on walking distance also carried the luggage of my wife what a service! Location perfect!

Very nice and helpful host. Found us a free parking space. He escorted us from the parking lot to the apartments and briefly told where to find things. Shared restaurant recommendations. The apartment is in a very good location, everything is within easy reach. The apartment is deeper from the street, so there was no noise. The apartments are neat with a bathroom in the room. I recommend it!

Everything was great
We enjoyed our stay a lot. The room was super clean and the location was perfect! Andrea made it so convenient for us, he welcomed us with big arms and showed us where to park and locations to visit during our stay! Amazing host!

They helped us with parking and provided great tips for around Ortigia. The room was basic but had everything - comfy bed, strong WiFi, and nice bathroom (great shower). The location was good.

Everything was perfect
Lucia was the perfect host. She helped us find a parking space for our car and she gave us the best information for sightseeing and eating. The location of the appartment was ideal. The room was super clean. We really enjoy the shower ( really new - water falling from different places) and the coffee machine with free capsules to make coffee in the morning.

The only thing was that the air conditioner was a little noisy at night, but then we found out that it can be switched to quiet mode.
The accommodation is in a perfect location, right in the center of the island, you can get to all places in a few minutes by walking through the beautiful Italian streets. The host was great, she guided us to the parking place and gave us lots of tips where to go for good food, what to see in the city. She was very willing.

Exceptionally helpful hosts with great English skills helped guide us to parking and escorted us to find the rooms. Great location on centrally located street that comes alive with wonderful boutique shops and restaurants. Rooms were super clean, modern, renovated and fresh. We had a great stay. Glad we were traveling light, as there were a few flights of stairs.

Stairs to old building were a challenge.
Host went over the top. He provided a map with walking directions to everything. We needed an iron and board which was provided. Daily housekeeping was a bonus.

Simple room which is all we needed as its just amazing place to visit we were out all day and night. Andrea made it so easy to check in and helped us find parking and was on hand for anything else we needed. Will definateley stay again when we visit Ortigia. We checked out late and Andrea was very accomadting letting us keep our luggage there while we hired a boat for the last day there.

Everything. Lovely clean and welcoming room, I had two small balconies. In the heart of Ortigia. Andrea was a great host, he gave me a lot of directions about the fish market, restaurants, boat trip. It was so good that I’ve decided to stay longer than planned. Thank you so much, I will be coming back.

the room was renovated but there was a strong smell of sewage. The building was in a bad state and the entrance to the building was via a filthy back alley.
The owners were very helpful. The property is advertised with free parking (garage) and although we did get free parking in the end, originally we received a message with instructions on how to arrange our own parking

Poor ventilation, big internet issues, apartment was very tired and not the one booked online.
Good location, quirky, good ensuite. Staff were helpful but could not overcome the issues with the apartment.
