Beautiful old house reconstructed with a "great taste" in a quiet part of Matera walking distance from center. Owner was willing to meet all our extra needs.

Everything is perfect. It’s a neat, clean and cozy nest. The place is renovated and decorated with taste, the old stone and carved ceilings are fantastic. Nicola takes good care of you, including a complete explanation of how to tour properly the city. The location is perfect, few hundred meters and you’re strolling along the cobblestone streets. Will come back!

I booked triple room on booking.com but was surprised that I had to pay an additional €40 in cash when I arrived for my wife. First and only time I had to do this.

The property was very comfortable and clean. Very convenient with parking on street and close to the old town. Friendly hosts and excellent breakfast.

This was the highlight of our trip as far as accommodation goes. Fairly plain from the outside but once inside it is beautifully decorated and very elegant. Staff incredibly helpful going out of her way to get us the name and location of a fish restaurant (there’s not many in Matera). Room is all white with good air conditioning, good bathroom and all extremely clean. The room came with breakfast which was outstanding, lovely bread, cakes, croissants, fruit, cold meats and a freshly cooked omelette as well. Location is good, near the old town with a short easy walk to get there but far enough away to be quiet in the evenings. We would highly recommend Casa Blanca.

Very central, and well maintained traditional house .This house was very cleverly renovated and we were very happy with everything.Ideally situated to visit the beautiful Matera and we will hopefully book the same house and return again .Instructions ,and advice ,were given to us by the gentleman who greeted us warmly.We had a lovely breakfast too.We loved everything.

Having to leave.

Our host was very helpful and gave us a map of the old town. He advised of a route to take to tour the town and of things to see along the way. The accommodation was lovely and clean, we only booked for one night but would have been happy to stay for longer. If we had known how lovely Matera is then we have stayed for longer and Casa Blanca Matera is an ideal place to stay. For information only: the old part of town was not planned with cars in mind, so if you have a car you may have to hunt for a parking space and be mindful of the parking rules. Also sometimes, the proprietors do not live at the property therefore you may have to wait a few moments for them to let you in, this is how it is in Italy - enjoy where you are. Often they will contact you to ask what time you will arrive.

Perhaps a settee or two chairs in the room to sit and relax in during the evening after dinner.

Ms Bruna was excellent, she enabled us to check in early and then go and explore. Very walkable to the old town sights. Room very clean, breakfast lovely, highly recommend. We were lucky with the parking down the same street.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality.
