How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewNice Stay, But Some Disappointments ★★★★☆ The condo was spacious, clean, and in a beautiful location with access to a great pool and near the beach-perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Bellagio. We really appreciated the space and layout, which worked well for our stay. However, there were a few issues that kept it from being a five-star experience. The hot water was unreliable during our stay, which was frustrating, and the condo lacked some basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and dish soap—things we expected to be included. Overall, we enjoyed our time and the place has a lot of potential, but a few small improvements would make a big difference.

Shower was very slow , no hand soap in the bathroom . A welcome pack would be good as supermarket is quite a way . There is a bus service into town but never when we wanted it. Its about a 25 minute walk into town and quite hilly

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed the location, because the nearest store was 15min by feet, the lakeside was 5min away, and nonetheless an amazing pool in the backyard where you can swim till 2am. It was very clean, we really liked the two separate bedrooms and living room together with kitchen and dining room. It really was the highlight of our trip. Downstairs on the first floor of the building there is also an amazing pizzeria where you can get a pizza in 10min and nice refreshing drinks

Unprofessional staff. We received a request to leave the apartment clean and to take with us the garbage, however we did not rent neither airbnb nor did a home swap, so by renting an apartment through booking.com is the first time in our 10 year experience the owner required to clean the property. Wild. The day when we checked out he called us and asked for the keys, and, as he found out later, as he didn’t mention we had to leave the keys in the locker, and left them on the table, i was listening to his speech for 5 minutes that he will have to ask someone to climb the balcony to enter the apartment and about his other problems with the property.. I mean… Dirty floor and kitchen. I had to double wash the plates from the cupboard because they were literally dirty.. Not a piece of soap. The price of one night is around 330€, I guess with this price you can provide some basic stuff. It is called SERVICE.

listing said it had a washing machine but didn’t. But the host kindly let us know about a nearby laundromat & a great coffee shop while waiting. Bit far from main area & not many restaurants nearby.

Verified reviewThe apartment is well located, next to a small, cute village San Giovanni which has a playground, a coffee shop and also a ferry stop which is very convenient. The walk into Bellagio takes around 20 min and can be a bit tricky because the streets are very narrow and sometimes there is no footpath. For us it was ok because our kids are already a bit older. The pool was very nice too. The apartment is spacious and ok equipped. The check in is very easy and the host always reachable and nice.
Could have been cleaner. Beds in the children rooms very hard. We were missing a few things like chairs for the balcony or a sponge/cloth to wash the dishes
