The bathroom needs a little attention (shower leaks, and light fittings are loose) , and the sofa was not that comfy.

The apartment was missing some basic supplies, including tissues, paper towels, dish soap/sponges and adequate toilet paper. If cost is a concern for the management, it might make more sense to skip the bottle of wine and instead provide basic essentials. In a small town like this, it’s not always clear to a tourist where to buy those items. The sofa set is very worn and in need of replacement. The bedrooms are located in the attic with low, sloped ceilings. It worked fine for three adults but could be challenging for four. There’s no air conditioning, though the lake breeze at night made it more comfortable.

The apartment is in an excellent location in the heart of Varenna, right above the popular Al Prato restaurant, with a beautiful view of the lake. The living area is spacious and comfortable, and the host was helpful and responsive. A complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch, and the beds provided a good night’s sleep. Drying laundry is easy in the living room.

There are quite a few steps up to the apartment which won't suit everyone but fine for us. Last time we went there was a small welcome pack of groceries although not much this time. The wine was a nice touch, thank you. Coffee only provided for 3 and was decaffeinated. There was a broken light in the bathroom and bin broken too. The sofas had seen better days but comfortable enough - we didn't sit in them much.

Sloping ceilings were a little tricky for a family all over 6 feet but when you have a view like that who cares .

Nothing needs to improve

The location is excellent with restaurants within 2 minutes walk. The apartment photos don’t do the property justice as the view from the apartment of Lake Como is breathtaking

It was not clear to me that there were two flights of steps, and then the bedrooms were another flight inside. Also, we loved the thought of the viewing area as shown, but when we got there, there were not any chairs. Bummer, and George didn't bring any over.

As mentioned numerous times before, no cloths to clean kitchen or table, no washing up liquid. Forced to use dishwasher for small loads. 1 wine glass only. Only 1 thin pillow on each bed.

Parking was difficult/not super clear in the instructions so that’s the only negative about this property. You can’t park on site you have to drive to find free parking. Also no soap provided to wash any dishes??

The only issue we had was returning the keys to the lock box, they were hard to all fit in. It also would be great if it was air conditioned but we got lucky and the weather was pleasant and the fans worked great.

We had a wonderful stay. The location is beyond perfect. You can see Lake Como from the apartment, super close to the main center of town. Spacious living area. The obtaining of the keys sounded kind of complicated but if you follow the directions listed it is really quite easy. Great detailed instructions. The ones with the pictures and arrows were amazing. Thanks for being accommodating with an earlier check-in. The communication with the host was GREAT!

A few more basic items like a corkscrew. Instructions for washing machine and where to put rubbish as this is very complicated and additional fees are threatened. It was only on the last day that I noticed the information on the back of the entrance door stating RECYCLING, I was interested in recycling and scanned the code which revealed the complex web of rubbish requirements. Some extra pillows would be appreciated as we used both rooms. Also the quilts needed to be washed.

Instructions from host on how to get there and enter were excellent. Location was perfect. The guest box was much appreciated although there was a bottle of wine in the box but no bottle opener in the apartment which is something to fix.
