How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewЕве ти ја рецензијата спремна на англиски за Booking: ⸻ The location was excellent, with markets nearby, the main train station just 10 minutes away, and both the city center and old town within walking distance. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The host was very kind and helpful — we had a small issue and he resolved it immediately. The apartment is nicely arranged, with two air conditioners and a fridge, which made our stay very comfortable. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.
The only downside was the weak internet connection, but from our experience, this seems to be a common issue across Italy.

Verified reviewBig disappointment! We had a hard time finding it, it is marked with a very small sign. Then - there is no parking space provided, (several attempts to reserve were unsuccessful) - an hour of wandering around the nearby streets in search of a place for the car, because the paid parking lots were also occupied to the maximum. The inconvenience - uncomfortable beds with mattresses pulled to one side, sheets of suspicious cleanliness, as well as towels. The second floor is not for people over 180cm tall.. It is stuffy because there are no windows in the bedrooms. The windows are small and are in one of the bathrooms (on the lower floor) and in the kitchen. In general - a very claustrophobic place.

Verified reviewThe host is nice and let us leave our luggage inside before check in time. There is AC in the room. There is a small kitchen if you want to use it. Location is 20 min walk from Bari centrale. It has coffee, milk and cereals you can use. There is a nice coffee shop in 5 min walking (the owner recommended it).
The room looks better in the pictures. It has no windows, it is basically a basement. The door is tricky to open. Basic cleaning, but the bed is the worst part. The mattress is very bad on one side and I couldn't sleep at all. Pillows are very hard. You can hear everything from everywhere, even a bird which made a noise every few minutes. Parking is very hard to find.

Verified reviewI had a fantastic experience staying at Carlitos’s apartment in Bari. From the moment we arrived, Carlitos was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The apartment was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had all the amenities we could ask for. Carlitos went above and beyond with his hospitality – being responsive to any questions, and genuinely making us feel at home. It’s rare to find a host who cares this much about the guest experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bari. I would absolutely stay here again. Thank you, Carlitos!

Thought it wasn’t that clean - particularly the shower. But perfect for a one night stay.

Verified reviewClean, comfortable and excellent communication from owner. Close to train station so easy to use as a base for day trips. About 15 min walk to centro storico. Bring ear plugs if light sleeper as 2 apartments have access through same front door.

Verified reviewThe B&B location is cca. 20 minutes on foot to Bari city center, but traveling by car is not so easy for reach. The owner was very kind and he gave us the tip on where to park the car for free. Possibility to use the small shared kitchen and have breakfast with milk and cereals, coffee and some snacks. We were also able to use the refrigerator to put our things in.
There are no windows and the room. The rooms are not soundproofed, so you can hear a lot of what is being done in the other room or in the kitchen.

Verified reviewIt made us walk a lot, which was good. The manager was very helpful
Everything was good. it just took a while to realise the restaurants don't open until later. But that has nothing to do with the accommodation.

Verified reviewThe room was located in two floors with the bathroom in the lower floor. The bed was really comfortable and we had a great sleep. There is a shared, fully equipped, kitchen with everything you may need for your breakfast. The host was very kind and helpful, ready to answer all our questions.
The only thing is that there is no window. Moreover, if your height is more than 1,85, you have to bow your head in the upper floor , but this is no problem.

Verified reviewThe host is very welcoming, responsive & accommodating. He perfectly adapted to my changing timetable - very much appreciated!
Breakfast could be improved as the options are quite limited and not very healthy (biscuits, Nutella, corn flakes…). Adding some fruits would be nice for example.

Verified reviewCarlos was very responsive to my inquiries. The apartment was clean and well furnished. The breakfast was adequate.
Although right next to the train station, it can still be a significant walk and take you close to 12 minutes to get to the train station.

Verified reviewGreat location, close to town and the train station. Would highly recommend staying here
We were promised yogurt and milk for breakfast everyday of our stay but there wasn’t yogurt for day 2 and milk on day 3. However it’s just a minor thing and it’s still a great location and accommodation
