Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyJust be aware that breakfast is not included. It can be ordered though. We didn’t order breakfast as we were happy to find a nice local cafe for a croissant and cappuccino. But we saw other guests enjoying their breakfast and it looked great (sweet and savory mix).
Great location if you want to escape the tourist chaos. This B&B is located in a quiet residential neighborhood with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Ask the host for recommendations: we visited 2 of the 3 recommended and both were great.

SwedenSaturday night there was clubbing in the neighboring building, but we could sleep thanks to earplugs provided by staff. We had a storage for cleaning in our compartment with staff needed access to sometimes. They knocked on door first of cause. Non of these issues were a problem for us.
Really nice neighborhood, easy to reach from airport with ferry. Clean, great staff including the cat. It’s not in the touristy part but it’s wonderful to walk all across Venice as it’s not a big city. We got really great recommendations for nearby restaurants from our host - Grazie mille!

United KingdomNo wardrobe to hang coats, trousers etc Only one electric socket
The room was very good, it was a smaller room (Elisabeth Taylor picture) but it had everything you needed except for a wardrobe to hang clothes in. There was a wardrobe but it had shelves so you had to hang clothes on hooks on the wall by the bathroom. There was only one electric point also, So you had to take out the mosquito electric appliance if you wanted to charge any appliances. Other than that the stay was lovely. They left bottles of water and plate of biscuits each day. You could also help yourself to tea & coffee which was located on the sideboard in the reception area. Another good thing was you could sit outside on the balcony, or the lower area to drink, eat or smoke. I would very much recommend this accommodation, except for the items I've mentioned, If it had those I would have given it excellent overall. They are very welcoming, they contact you to give her advice before you arrive and advise which boat to catch and get off. They leave you alone the rest of the time to enjoy yourself. Which we did. Thank you Nicole and family.

New ZealandIt was a bit out of the main centre of Venice which did mean it was lovely and quiet but also meant it took about 10 minutes walk to get into the main area of Venice. Not really a problem just something to consider.
The B&B was really lovely. Great communication with staff and very clear instructions as to how to get to the accommodation. The staff were just so lovely and welcoming!! The breakfast was delicious and one of our group was gluten free and she was catered for really well. The accommodation was warm, quiet and spacious and the beds were comfy. It was lovely to have the shared lounge area to make tea and coffee in and relax in. We also loved the hotel cat!

United KingdomThere is nothing I don’t like.
We have stayed here before but not for a few years. The B&B is away from the tourist parts of Venice but only 10 minutes walk from the waterfront. There is a supermarket 3 minutes walk away, and the addition of a small fridge in the room meant we could keep drinks and small snacks cold. The room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was optional but we chose to have this everyday and Monica who made this for us did a brilliant job.

United KingdomThe only slight negative is that the property is on the first floor. As it is a very old building there is no way a lift could be installed, so you just accept that you have a flight of stairs to climb when you get back each day.
Located in a quiet and historical part of Venice. We felt very safe there even when walking around at night. Within about 20 minutes walk of the busier areas of Venice but there were bars and restaurants very close. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Room was kept spotless with daily housekeeping and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely lounge area if you didn't want to sit in your bedroom. Within 5-10 minute walk of 2 vaporetto stops and the Alilaguna boat to the airport. The weekly transport ticket was good value for money as we used the vaporetto several times each day. Also valid on the buses on the Lido. Good communication from the owners via Whatsapp.

IcelandWe loved the quiet neighbourhood, 15 minutes walk from the busy tourist attractions but some might find it a little out of the way. There is a stairway up to the guesthouse and obviously no elevator so keep that in mind if you are travelling with heavy pieces of luggage.
It was like coming home! We were greeted by the hosts son who was courteous and nice. The lovely lady who took care of our breakfast out on the balcony was so attentive and sweet. Our suite was spaceous and clean, the beds were very comfortable. An excellent stay at a lovely family run guesthouse!

AustraliaEverything was great.
Big room, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Nice furniture. Very clean. Good security. Quirky decor. The check-in staff were very efficient and answered all my questions, including about the public Vaporetto so that I could get around easily. I had already bought a Vaporetto Pass outside the train station when I arrived & that covered the number of days that I needed, including the day that I was leaving, so I could get to the bus station and then the airport. Individual trips are quite pricey, but the Pass is pretty cheap, so you can ride up and down the amazing Grand Canal anytime just for fun. Venice is expensive so this hotel is good value for Venice. As a solo traveler I wanted to stay in a hotel. I'd been in lots of small places by myself in Italy and wanted a change. This place was a good choice for me. The location is excellent, out of the main tourist area so it had a local feel to it. Easy to walk around, over little bridges and small side canals. 10-minute walk to the Vaporetto on the Grand Canal, 4-minute walk to the Vaporetto that goes around the North of the Island.
