How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We found the bed a little uncomfortable but that is always a gamble with accommodations.
Location was good - a short walkable distance to the main restaurant/shop streets, as well as the train station.

Even though the location is handy, the neighbourhood is sketchy - feels dangerous. I wouldn’t recommend for solo female travellers or girls in general. There’s always a group of men hanging outside of the building’s door and at night there was prostitution happening at the corner of the street. It’s a commercial street so very busy during the day (which is great) but quiet at night with some suspicious characters around. It’s important to highlight that nothing happened to us.

A lot of people were hanging in the area outside the entrance. Did not feel safe when we arrived. Check in information wasn’t clear and we had to wait for the person that let us in. It was high humidity in the room and the AC function for drying did not work.
It was clean and close to the train station. Big and nice room.

Wi-Fi had very poor quality. Only 1 roll of toilet paper for 4 nights. The surroundings are a little bit sketchy at night even though it's one of the main streets of La Spezia.
Great location within 5 min walk from the central train station. Host was very responsive at scheduling with us for the check-in even though our train got a bit late. The room corresponded to the photos here on booking. Overall a very nice stay.

We couldn't board the previous two trains as they were full.As a result we had to arrive at 22:00 in la Spezia and we were informed that we had to pay 30€ extra upon our arrival.There should also be some space to hang our swimming suits cause after going to the beach it was necessary.

unfortunately the location at night is very shady. for some reason a lot of drunks and shady looking characters just hang out right in front of the building door after sunset. i wouldn’t recommended for women to walk around alone there. even the owner of the bar talked to me one morning that he’s annoyed by this crowd that scares his costumers. looks like a drug dealing point.
it’s very well located. three blocks west of it you can find free parking. a few blocks east are the old town and central station. downstairs there’s a great bakery and a bar for a tradicional Italian coffee. The host was very friendly.

Wish that I could tell you more,unfortunately we could not get there as we had Rental Car issues, in Montecatini,, could not get a replacement car,for two days that we had trouble, with in the first plac0e We contacted them to give us a break as it was beyond our control,But were flatly turned down,We will never book this place again, They just did not care about us and our situation. Unfortunately I have to mention a few things: - The WiFi didn’t work, also after contacting the owner. - A shower door was missing - Too less toilet paper
The location is perfect to explore Cinque Terre via train. The check in was easy going. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. We were very grateful for the air conditioning :)

Quiet room, air condition, clean bathroom, tea making facility, bakery across the street. Easy to find when walking from train station. Helpfull and kind owners. Traveled alone with my daughter and felt very good and safe. Recommend this accomodation for trips to cinqueterre.

Room was clean with newer updates. A/c, with elevator. Easy walk from train and main town. Location was noisy, including noise/music from within building, next to busy road, at night felt unsafe. Value for what we paid.
