Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Location was conveniet, as it is just across Termini station and has an excellent access to the airport, but the nighbourhood is doggy. The price for 3 ppl was ok, as we only needed the room for a few hours.

United StatesThe location was very dirty. The shower curtain had an orange color on the bottom of it. The shower wall had spots of black mold in the grout. A simple fix to this would be a spray bottle with bleach water in it. The stair well cage had dust on it that obviously had been there for years. The bed was soft but it sank. The mattress was thin. No towels were offered.
The location of this property was great. It’s right across the street from the train station.

DenmarkIt doesn't look like a hotel or a proper Inn. The facilities mentioned on booking.com are not real, except for the air conditioning. No clean towels/blankets or necessary stuff were found. There was a bad smell in the washroom. We spent 4 nights there; the first room was allocated to us, and we found that the flush was not working. After contacting the staff, we were shifted to another room after a small discussion. The washroom in the new room smelled really bad, which was washed by the staff the very next day, but it didn't change the condition.
The location is good, near to the central train station.

HungaryDont look at the mattress under the sheet, also the blanket above the sheet is also full of stains, water in shower is in very poor condition. So we choose to put double sheets on mattress and cover ourselves with another set of sheets. Staff was very kind and provided us with anything when we asked.

UkraineThe worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything in the room is old, broken, mold in the toilet, stinks in the room. The water is turned off at night. Hot water was only in the evening and not always. I was not given all my change back after paying for the room. I came several times for my money, but each time I was promised that in half an hour will bring. Pay without change, don't let yourself be cheated. The neighborhood is terrible, a lot of homeless people, dirty, there are mountains of garbage all around, stinks. Do not want to walk in the neighborhood at all. Restaurants and stores nearby are very bad, not belong to the Italians, there only wnat to sell something cheap for a lot of money, or try to withdraw money from the card twice, hoping that you do not notice. It is better to rent a room away from the center and get to the center by metro. The subway is good. Don't use this Botel. And avoid this neighborhood. Don't spoil your Rome experience.

Czech RepublicAll, there was not any thing possitive
unwilling owner and staff, there was not a single wardrobe or shelf in the room, dirty floor, dirty corridor. This is accommodation in a house where 5 rooms are created from one apartment. We had fleas in our room. The mattress was very worn. Unwillingness of the staff to change anything. After the taxi (ordered through booking.com) didn't come for us, the staff refused to wait for us for an hour longer while we got another taxi. So we were forced to spend the night at the airport. They refused to refund us for this night. Noisy environment, reception that didn't work, loud bell right outside our door. If you are looking for Halloween accommodation, this is it. really probably the worst I've ever experienced, even compared to destinations like Nepal, India, Kazakhstan. Iran....

UkraineThe rooms and bathrooms need at least cosmetic repairs. Some places are very dirty (for example, the bedside table in our room). There is no air conditioning. We asked to use an iron, but unfortunately it was not available. It is difficult to find the reception (there is a sign on the facade of the building, but there is no sign in the entrance on the floor where the reception is located). I would really like to have an electric kettle and two glasses in the room. There is hot water in the shower, but it starts flowing only after 4-5 minutes of waiting, and every time you close the tap, the cycle repeats, even if warm water just flowed, if you close the tap and open it again, cold water will flow first and you have to wait a very long time until it runs hot.
Location is very convenient, but it is near bus-train station, so it is very dirty and scary all around. There was a hot water (in other review it was written there was no water). There were no bugs (in other review it was written there were bugs)

SerbiaWe had difficulties finding the acommodation, inside the building where It’s located there were no signs. There was no hot water and the water pressure was weak. The neighborhood surrounding the building was a bit sketchy, but during the day It didn’t feel too uncomfortable. Apart from the sketchy neighborhood the location was great.
Hosts were friendly and understanding, they were flexible about the check in and check out times, all according to our arrival and departure. It was mostly clean, apart from one towel, but when we mentioned it they immediately gave us a new one.

United Arab EmiratesEverything. Most importantly NOT SAFE i repeat NOT SAFE. Imagine the creepiest ghetto in Brooklyn NYC. The location is even worse, just at the building entrance a huge flok of creepy thugs drinking and smoking grass. Neighborhood is very dirty, building smells like Asian/ desi kitchen, room smells bad, bathroom isn't that clean. The only reason i booked because i was arriving from Pisa and i had a flight to catch the next morning, so i thought to go with something thrifty and close to the train station as i was planning not to sleep anyway. I feel really unfortunate that i had to see that part of Rome after nice trip to Italy. Be careful and stay safe.

AustraliaAll good. I get a sense the staff don't get paid a lot for their work but they're nice and do a good job.
Very simple but reasonable accommodation. Don't expect any frills but for the price and location, great. It actually ended up being better than expected. Plenty of space in the room. I had a courtyard facing room so it was not too noisy. There is hot water but it just takes a while to get going. The neighbourhood has a vibe, great African community. Yes there are a few people sleeping rough around the building and area but that's Rome and they're just living their life. We're the visitors.
