The hotels's description on booking.com is very misleading. We rented an apartment with a kitchen but on the second day when we wanted to heat up milk for kids we were informed that using the gas stove requires additional payment - 10euro per day. It's like renting a room with a bathroom and having to pay for a water to take a bath. The hotel's description says it is offering a bathrobe, slippers, cosmetics but all we received was a hand soap. Nobody helped us with a parking place. In the apartment for 4 people we were provided with only 2 chairs which was very inconvenient. We very also very disappointed with breakfast. They are very basic - no fruits, no veggies, no meat. Furthermore, the location next to the restaurant means you hear people dining till 1am whereas the church bells wake you up at 7am. If you like religious elements in the room and the location suits you that's fine but we caution against misleading hotel description. Hiding additional charges for advertised services is highly unfair. We left the hotel 1 day earlier.

It's a good base for exploring nearby towns. However, no parking place is provided.

Despite my constant checking in through booking.com from the time of our original reservation to the weeks and days before our arrival, Borgoterra wasn’t very responsive. Maybe it was the language difference. Maybe their internet was spotty. But we arrived at the time I had repeatedly messaged we would arrive to no one being there to receive us and no way to contact someone to let us in. It was a 4 hour process from our arrival to when we finally got our keys. The internet was non-functional during our stay, so our communication was limited and we ended up paying for our room in cash. The family running Borgoterra, the service people, the kind woman who served us breakfast in the beautiful garden were all so nice, I hate to be critical. I think if they get their communication system down all those problems (including WiFi) could easily be fixed. It is such a beautiful place. It just needs to be run better for foreign guests.

What a beautiful spot. Exquisite rooms.
