AC was portable that was noisy. Didn’t bother me and we didn’t need it much because it wasn’t too hot, but for folks that are sensitive to noise it may be.

Excellent host, excellent location. You feel the essence of Tuscany staying here. Beautifully decorated and very patient and helpful host. If we go back, we will aim to stay here again.

The apartment was tastefully renovated and appointed. The hosts Lorenzo and Daniele were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for them with tips on places to visit, eat and best public parking locations in Siena. San Gusme was quaint and relaxing with a village charm. An easy 4km to the nearest town with great eateries, gelato, supermarket.and, local events. A great base for us to explore other Tuscan villages by car.

Lorenzo met us at the gate and showed us the property. He communicated with me really well about time of arrival and throughout our stay giving us ideas of where to go around the area. He and his wife could not have been more lovely and welcoming and it really started off our trip in Italy in a great way. I highly recommend this property. It is in a small medieval village that is just beautiful.

Extraordinarily beautiful, clean and authentic. This place is like a dream or stepping into a movie. Classic styling doesn’t get any better (somehow not a speck of dust to be found!), with a homey feel only achievable with love and attention to detail. The apartment is super comfortable (all amenities feel brand new, comfortable bed and bedroom) and the owners are the kindest people you’ll meet with great recommendations and many stories to tell. We’ve stayed for 3 nights and it was a wonderful location to explore the region by car (San Gusmé is charming but small without restaurants or stores). We’d recommend everyone to stay in Lorenzo & Daniela’s Borgo.

The apartment was magnificent, stacked with art, books, games. The view from the garden was wonderful, Tuscany at its best. San Gusme is a magical place, why would you stay anywhere else?

We loved our stay at Borgo San Gusme and missed it as soon as we reluctantly departed.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said. This was a unique look into living like a local in San Gusme. Lorenzo and his lovely wife Daniela were the most welcoming hosts. The apartment is perfection, with all amenities of a five star hotel. This is the only apartment in Italy I have ever stayed at with a dryer in addition to a washing machine. There is a very good restaurant in this small town of fifty as well as many Michelin rated restaurants nearby. Lorenzo is available with recommendations and shares his private parking and use of his beautiful garden with guests. The bed and linens are very comfortable, the view the best we have seen in all of Tuscany and the warmth of the hosts was the very highlight of our trip. We left knowing we had a most wonderful and unique two days in this beautiful small village with Lorenzo as our resident artist, sculptor, chef, gardener, and Renaissance man of the 21st century. An experience we will not soon forget.

We would have liked more than one electrical portable hot plate as a cooking facility.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm Tuscan welcome. Lorenzo and Daniela were so lovely and accommodating. The apartment was lovely. Spacious, clean and very homely with magnificent views of the Chianti countryside. The old village was beautifully restored with only approximately 50 residents. With easy access to Siena and Florence we can highly recommend Borgo San Guzme as a perfect base for a Tuscan holiday.

My family have travelled around the world, however, our experience at Borgo San Gusme with a wonderful host Lorenzo and his wife Daniela, were sensational. You will hardly find other hosts like them, and staying at their lovely house was a lifetime experience. Therefore, my review will be somehow different to a standard one. From the moment we entered Lorenzo’s apartment we got a unique feeling of transferring into a genuinely historical Tuscan house, with a beautiful design and artistic sense of Lorenzo, coupled with the outstanding interior decorations and attention to every single detail, including furniture, books, paintings, souvenirs and the likes. We were thrilled to see so much passion and love that was put into making this place so beautiful and delightful. It is hard to describe in words all great qualities of this accommodation, although in short the apartment was very cozy and spacious, super clean, which made us feel extremely comfortable throughout the entire stay. The photos on booking.com depict exactly how everything looks like. We truly felt like living in a real Tuscan house. This place is great to relax, indulge into the Tuscan atmosphere, admire beautiful views of the surrounding area with picturesque hills and vineyards, but also to explore historical landmarks, e.g. nearby Florence. Lorenzo is not just a host, he is a soul mate, an inspiring story teller, who captivates with his knowledge of the rich history and culture of San Gusme, Tuscany and Italy. Lorenzo is a travel expert, being able to share valuable tips about tourist attractions, how to get around, what to admire, and recommend restaurants with genuine local food. We appreciate it all, including our common dinner in San Gusme with a life music :)! Lorenzo and Daniela, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your warm hearts and generosity.
