Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNone of the shutters worked, balcony light didn't work, the electric socket near kitchen was hanging out the wall, the made up bed in the lounge is in bad shape and both myself and daughter caught our legs on the broken metal prongs at the base of the bed. Most of the sockets wouldn't accept adapter plugs other than one in the lounge. The stairs up to this property are crazy, especially with young children and a pram and very dangerous to walk back from the centre up to this property as no paths at the last 5 minutes of the walk. Shame because if these minor issues were fixed then the location you could accept, given the view from the balcony (although trees need a trim)

United StatesThe apartment is a 10-minute walk from restaurants and shops so it's good to plan your meals/shopping if you want to avoid multiple trips up the hill.
Apartment is located just outside of the town (about a 15 minute walk from the main train station) with a beautiful view over Lake Como and the town. The apartment is well outfitted with a terrace, living room, bedroom and kitchen. In order to get this great view you have to walk up a hill and then up some steps. It was fine for us as we had light backpacks meant for hiking, but be aware of this if you have heavier suitcases or don't like walking up hills. For us, the view was worth the effort :)

Switzerlandparking is a bit of an issue, if you don't get a public parking lot at the street under you have to take one somewhere in the city
Bit of stairs to climb, but totally not a problem at all

AustraliaThere are many mosquitoes, being so close to the lake. There is a mosquito net over the bed but it didn’t work for us. We had to buy insect repellent to minimise the bites. The fan over the stove would benefit from a through clean as it was greasy; this would remove the slight smell of grease in the kitchen. Access to the apartment is through a gate which needs a key to get in and out of, so you always need the keys with you to get out onto the Main Street. we had to make several trips up and down the stairs to take rubbish out and to have our luggage at the bottom before we could leave the key inside the room at check out. We couldn’t find a way to open it without a key. The street Via Torno is VERY narrow and busy and you need to be wary when walking to Via Madonetta to get to town. We also had to stop all traffic when we arrived to get our luggage out of the car and onto the ramp. These last points are not major problems; just things to be mindful of.
The view from the apartment is breathtaking. It is located up the hill with plenty of stairs, but every step is worth taking for the view and the serenity of the location. While it’s not too far from Como centre, the uphill walk and stairs may not suit everyone. For us it was ok, even with a 4 year old. This is a great place to stay if you want to keep fit or start your fitness journey AND enjoy Lake Como! There are several paths that make getting to the lake easy. The apartment is functional, clean and spacious. The living room has a sofa and dining table with a door opening to a small balcony. We spent most of our time out there when having meals. There is a split air conditioning system, but we had no reason to use it as, although the temperature was hot outside, the apartment was always comfortable inside. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans and cutlery and various basics like salt, pepper and olive oil. There is also a fridge, microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine - you’ll need to bring your own capsules. There is a washing machine in the bathroom which was very handy to do a few loads of washing while we were there. There wasn’t anywhere to hang the washing so we improvised by using coat hangers and the chairs. The team at house of travellers sent us all the check in information, with video links once we had paid the city tax and a few days before our arrival. This made all the details to accessing the apartment easy and familiar once we arrived. They were also quick to respond when we contacted them about the tv not working and fixed it straight away. We really enjoyed our stay as a family here.

United KingdomIt is very difficult to get to the place, narrow roads without sidewalks and cars drive on both sides in minimal proximity to your feet, it is dangerous. But I understand that it does not depend on this object. In the apartments themselves, the handle at the exit to the balcony needs to be replaced; it doesn’t hold well and you constantly have to hold it so that it doesn’t fall off.
Wonderful view of the lake!

New ZealandThe fact that the steps were not informed about til payment made and then a u tube video sent with instructions and showed the steps, which there are 176 of, like a goat track, can't wheel bags would need to get carried. The view shown in photos was blocked by an overgrown tree in front of small balcony.

Canadaone of the worst stays I've ever experienced. there's barely any view of the lake due to the overgrown trees. the hike up to the property should be mentioned, four separate stair cases, one littered with broken branches and tiles with no lights so it's pretty dangerous at night. the walk up is genuinely awful. when we first opened the door the musty smell hits you. the wifi is non existent. the bed is missing slats and broken in the middle, very uncomfortable. the shower is a dribble. theres no tv remote. theres sockets hanging out of the wall. we found half eaten food in the drawers. there's no remote for the TV. the place is disgusting. we messaged the property how disappointed we were and how there was no view, and all they said was 'sounds good, thanks'. DO NOT stay here, you will be severely disappointed. we checked out the next morning and found a much nicer place. horrible property, do not stay here, especially if you have accessibility issues or small kids.
