How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewStunning views, fantastic balcony and 10/15 minute walk out of central town. Not far from both ports in Bellagio, the perfect place to hop on a short boat trip to surrounding towns. The apartment was clean, well stocked with essentials and great aircon!
We arrived by boat to Bellagio mid-afternoon and there were no taxis available. Be prepared for a hot hilly walk up to the apartment. This wouldn’t be a problem, but we did have a lot of luggage.

As without a car, got taxi for €20 from the ferry.

Verified reviewWe LOVED the Bellagio Lake Flat. We can't fault it - it was one of the best stays we had our whole trip. Communication with Ambra was great from the beginning, and she was very helpful with all her instructions. The flat is in a great location - only 10 mins from town but far away that it feels secluded and is quiet. The flat itself is large, spacious, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a lift, which we appreciate! The bed is comfy although soft, the linen is so cozy and the shower/bathroom are great too. The place is very clean and neat. The best part is the views. The photos do not do it justice. The views are breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again when we return! Grazie!

Was greeted with a note asking us to offset the tourist tax and to leave £24 cash. This was offensive to us and we declined since it wasn’t in the listing and it was already expensive. Hot water didn’t work for 24+ hours and we couldn’t shower. Host insisted we miss a dinner reservation for her people to come fix and it still didn’t work until the next morning. I explained to the host that I was up all night before dealing with a personal circumstance (family fleeing from hurricane) and even after a bad stay she was rigid with a ridiculous 10am checkout time as if it takes 6 hours to prep and apartment for a new guest. Free parking is great but very tight spots that were very difficult to park in, even driving a mini cooper. Would not go back.
The ticket you found was for the resort tax money that all guests have to pay to stay in Bellagio. It was a due request. Since I then have to pay that amount to the municipality of Bellagio. Now I have to pay it for you. And that's not fair. You made fun of us by leaving us 1,000 Argentine pesos which is equivalent to 89 cents in euros. Money that goes to the municipality of Bellagio. Not to me. And it clearly says on booking that the resort fees are separate. The hot water outage was short-lived and promptly resolved. You also showered with me checking the state of the boiler. So it is not true what you say. You discredit our work and commitment for no reason. Check out time is 10 o'clock for all guests. When you booked you knew this and agreed to the conditions. We must guarantee all guests the best possible conditions as we have guaranteed them to you. The parking lot is a very normal size and they even park cars bigger than yours. No one has ever complained.

Verified reviewBeautiful view, quiet, clean with lots of special touches. Decorations, treats, shelf in bathroom to put things in, nice shower, enough towel racks, extra blankets and pillows, The ladies were very sweet. They had to meet us and get us to our flat, due to our GPS sending us the wrong direction.
Would have liked curtains that you couldn’t see through to add more privacy at night and a bit more heat, but did OK with extra blankets watching TV.

Verified reviewAmazing view, comfortable bed, kitchen well stocked, good coffee machine, large bathroom and room, soft bed and sheets, cute balcony, good location if you like to get exercise, about 15 min walk into the main town, pretty steep climb but if you are fit it's worth it for the view. very helpful host. The restaurant next door is highly recommended, very convenient for pizza or pasta.

Verified reviewThis property exceeded our expectations. When we arrived we were awestruck by the view this place had to offer. It was nice having a kitchen and a washer for your clothes. We were only a 0.6 mile walk to the town of Bellagio and parking was included. At first I was concerned there wouldn't be parking for our car since there are 4 spots that are reserved but it's first come first serve. During the entire trip there was always a spot open.
We did drive to get to this location which was VERY sketchy driving the road from Como to Bellagio. I would recommend to anyone who is on the fence with driving in tight spots on the side of cliffs to make sure they are willing to make the trip. A lot of people do take a ferry to get to this location which might be a better option if you are unsure of making the drive.

Verified reviewAmazing spot with a great view especially for price and how expensive lake como is. Owner checked in with us multiple times to see if we got into the apartment okay and she had extremely detailed check in info.
Power kept turning off but would restart eventually, cleaning products they used smelled funny but apartment was clean when we arrived

As for the power going out, probably too many appliances were turned on at once (washing machine, oven, air conditioner, iron, straighteners, hair dryer) and since everything was electric, it could not handle the overload and turned off the power just in case. As for cleaning products, the company uses very good verified products that I have checked as well. And they usually taste clean.

Verified reviewParking available for free. An elevator to transport suitcases instead of carry them up stairs. The view from the flat and balcony was wonderful. A great location, easy to reach the town center and other surrounding sights.
The balcony was just a little too small for convenience. There were only small tea cups and even smaller espresso cups, but no larger mugs. The TV was a bit small and too high on the wall. but none of these are serious problems of course.

Being from The US we always have a top sheet not just a fitted sheet. The comforter was a bit warm when sleeping. Needed something light weight to cover up while sleeping. Also very bright not enough curtain cover for windows.
