Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaWe had a lovely stay in Bellagio! The house was clean, cozy, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view of the lake was absolutely stunning. Just a short walk—less than a minute—to a charming bakery, and only a 5-minute drive to the city center made the location perfect. The host family was incredibly welcoming, greeting us with delicious pastries and offering a detailed introduction to the area and its main attractions. And gave us a nice goodbye card to always remember Bellagio. We truly loved our stay and would definitely come back again!

United KingdomThe weather was a bit of a let down but it was the only thing Alberto and Sybille couldn't help with.
The location is great. Far away enough from the center to be quiet and relaxing but close enough that you can still reach it with a fairly short to medium walk (Twenty to thirty minutes depending on your pace/ability). My wife and I are able bodied and of normal fitness and we managed the walk quite comfortably (Alberto's short cuts helped a lot). People of an older age or with physical difficulties might struggle with the walk but you can always get a bus or a taxi. The property is well maintained and has everything you need including a nice amount of supplies left by the hosts. Lots of room in the kitchen including a fridge/freezer if you want to bring your own food or stock up during your stay. The garden of the property is beautiful and the view is stunning. Every room has a nice view and there is a good sized balcony to sit on and look out over the lake and mountains. If you want a day to just chill out during your stay then the garden is brilliant for it with chairs and Sun loungers provided. The hosts Alberto and Sybille are brilliant. Even before we arrived they provided us with lots of helpful information and advice regarding tours, places of interest, restaurants and even the best way to get to the area from the airport. They picked us up on arrival in Bellagio (which they aren't obliged to do) and then gave us half an hour of their time to again offer lots of helpful advice about the house, local area, tours, maps, restaurant bookings, local shops and some great short cuts that were really helpful as my wife and I walked everywhere. I can't speak highly enough of Alberto and Sybille. Really lovely, helpful people. I got a real sense that they genuinely wanted us to enjoy our time in their home and the local area. They answered any questions we had during our time there and were always contactable. We loved our time at their house, Bellagio and the lake in general.

AustraliaNothing it was amazing.
Location is amazing peaceful and beautiful. A walk to places like the city and the beaches and the sporting club but you can also drive and park or catch a bus. Sybille and Alberto were amazing hosts gave us an in depth overview of Bellagio and provided a pantry of food so we didn’t have to stress when we got there later. Amazing stay.

United KingdomThe house has a beautiful view of the lake and is detached and private with a fenced garden. The beds are very comfortable, including the pillows, which are so often overlooked! We all slept very well. All aspects for a very comfortable stay are considered. We really enjoyed being there and felt very relaxed. It’s a fair hike into town, we managed it there and back with our 4&6 year olds and all enjoyed it but we drove the following day.

The view from the house is stunning. Hosts are very nice and welcoming : they had a few supplies for us (including welcome drink and munchies, some breakfast items and other food). They were very responsive when we had a problem with the coffee maker. The kitchen is very well supplied and the house is very clean. The yard is beautiful and all fenced in. The neighborhood is quiet and calm ; the house is located an 8 mn walk from a good Trattoria (Bella Vista) up the hill. As the hosts explained, the drive to Bellaggio is easy - about 10 mn. (Plan to get to town around 9:00 am to park for free in the white zone).

United StatesNothing. We wished we didn't have to leave. My daughter wanted to stay in the house forever.
The owners are a very lovely family who cherish their family home. I was so pleased to rent from them. They were SO thoughtful and know that their guests are very weary travelers. They had homemade snacks and prosecco waiting for us upon arrival. There is a back road to the local bar, restaurant, trattoria and bakery so that we could avoid walking on the main road. The family sat with us after check-in in order to suggest places to visit, restaurants and activities - complete with maps, brochures and business cards. Both father and daughter speak beautiful English and communicate well. They must have stayed for an hour in order to ensure they answered all our questions. After expressing an interest in biking, they actually left and brought back brochures of the bike rental store (Bike. It) that is walking distance from the house. Clean patio with clean rod iron black picnic table Clean laundry machine Clean/new sheets, pillows, blankets, towels Clean bathrooms Clean floors Clean kitchen with stocked pantry and fridge with pasta, olive oil, butter, jam, Nutella, olives, pasta sauce, a million types of coffee, tea, lots of water. Thoughtful addition of plastic bags that freeze water into ice cubes for us Americans. Clean dishwasher Clean furniture Clean balcony with small table and chairs for morning breakfast Working air conditioners, although in the morning - even on the hottest days - we opened windows because the air was so fresh and cool. Comfortable furniture. Wonderful garden with lots of rosemary, lavender, sage, cherry tomatoes that we ate right off the vine. No detail overlooked. The family does not seem to want their guests to have to travel to the store - so they offer shampoo, soap, mosquito repellent (no toothpaste or toothbrush), dishwashing tablets, laundry detergent, room deodorizer, cleaning supplies, even plenty of doggie wastebags.

United KingdomIt is a bit out of the centre so definitely consider hiring a car as taxis were quite hard to find in October.

NetherlandsWe just loved the apartment, it's large (fully fenced, dog friendly) garden and stunning lake view. Alberto and his daughter Sybille made us feel right at home and had the apartment stocked with everything you can think of (or did not think of!). Bellagio town center (reachable on foot with a shortcut) and surroundings (dont forget to take the ferry) are very beautiful.

United StatesIt is a stretch to say this property is located in Bellagio. The property is over the hill and through the woods to grandmother‘s house we go. A 30 minute walk to city center on narrow, winding roads with no sidewalks. My family complained of bug bites and I was a little surprised to see that insect repellent is actually provided by the host. The antique-ish furniture and bedding looked like and felt like it was purchased in a rummage sale 20 years ago. It is an inconvenient and unsafe walk for a family even to get basic food. It is difficult, expensive, and inconvenient to find taxis and even a challenge to get to the bus stop walking on narrow roads with blind curves. Arturo (host) began yelling at me and demanding €260 upon arrival as I did not register my 12 year-old as an adult guest.
There is not much to like about this property, except for there is a beautiful view off of the balcony. The host provided a few essential amenities, probably because the property is so poorly located. My family was happy to get their 10,000 daily steps in. Maybe this property can be recommended for a budget conscious family that wants an isolated stay in the woods with a lake view. But if you’re looking to stay in Bellagio proper, I would not recommend this property.
