How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The air conditioner in the room was not working properly and was really hot due to the summer, but besides all it was really great.
Lara is really supportive and gave us really good tips about Firenze. The breakfast is really great

The breakfast is far better than a voucher for a pastry and coffee at a local cafe, this is a generous selection including the offer of a ham and cheese toast made by your host. The property is close to the T2 line tram, a quick ride into town, Rooms are modern and clean. The hosts are generous with their time and full of good advice .Lara speaks several languages .

Very nice place spotlessly clean.The hosts make time to make youre time there as enjoyable as possible..The location is close enough to the center for easy access but away from the the crowds of sightseers..its a bit like a boarding house but the landlady is super freindly

I could not stay for breakfast because of an early airport flight out of Florence. However, juice, a sandwich and lemon cake was left for me in the refrigerator, I could take it to the airport with me, so kind! Location was perfect for me because I wanted a place near the airport.

There was some repair work at the next-door aapartment and it was a bit noisy. Just a matter of coincidence.
The hosts were wonderful- hospitable and helpful. Even the first evening they explained everything and showed a map what and where to visit. The breakfast was brilliant. The tram connection and the location of the apartment is perfect.

The walls are a bit thin, but all in all this accommodation is absolutely worth the price.
The hosts were really kind and helpful. I have gluten allergy and they prepared gluten free sweets for the breakfast. The property is relatively close to the city centre, 10-15 minutes by tram. There are several supermarkets close to the apartment.

wonderful staff, very helpful and making creat cappuccinos in the morning. The breakfast is mainly pre-packed food. The rooms are basic, a bit "cold" with few atmosphere lights but everything you need for a good stay. Comfortable beds, well working heating.

Il Grillo di Firenze B&B is great base to explore Florence/Firenze. The property is well-situated near the tram into Florence. You can enjoy a quiet neighborhood within a 10 minute ride into the city center. Superb, informative, caring hosts. Nice breakfast to begin the day.

There were no complaints.
Every thing about the accommodation was beyond my expectations for the price, the service, the breakfast array offered and the host was excellent, the location was not far from city centre, I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone.

The host was so kind and friendly and helped us so much. She explain everything about the places that we could visit in our time. Every thing was clean and in a good condition. The view of the room was so nice. The place was not so far from train station and we could reach there easily by tram.

There is a wonderful host. He tells you every detail without getting bored. He is very interested and smiling. He is a polite and understanding gentleman. Eşim ve oğlumla konakladık. Herkes çok memnun kaldı. Every detail is very beautiful. Towels, pillows and sheets are very clean and of the highest quality. It is very clean and has a spacious balcony. The rooms are very spacious. The best hotel we stayed in Italy. It was above our expectations.
