Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe whole experience started with a bad first impression and unfortunately never recovered. The building feels neglected, like someone just gave up halfway. What was advertised as a “studio apartment” turned out to be a bedroom with a shared kitchen right down the corridor. The soundproofing? Basically nonexistent. We could hear every door slamming in the hallway (since we had room number one, which is literally 50cm away from the main entrance of that corridor), every creaky floorboard, and even the young singer from a nearby bar who, bless her soul, gave us an unsolicited concert till around 00:00. The retro-balcony doors from the 80s didn’t close properly and moved every time someone opened the main entrance, the wooden shutters from another decade naturally let the first rays of sunlight wake us up at dawn... that is, just before 6 a.m., and combined with the crowds heading to work early, add in a bright emergency exit light above the entrance door and you’ve got a sleep setup that feels more like a sleep experiment. The shower? So narrow it bordered on claustrophobic, with water pressure so low it felt symbolic. Hot water took ages to appear. The Wi-Fi barely worked, didn’t connect to the TV, and the satellite channels...well, let’s just say there weren’t any. Like any channels, at all. But the real issue? The communication. Or more accurately: the complete lack of it. After booking, we were sent a “fast check-in” link that felt more like a digital border crossing. You’re asked to upload your ID, take a selfie holding your ID (with all numbers and details visible), and then… wait. Sometimes hours. Sometimes a full day. And unless you complete this process and get manually approved, you receive entry details etc. To sum it up: the bed and AC did their best, but the overall experience was more confusing than comfortable. If you enjoy mystery, noise, and the charm of abandonment, this place might speak to you. For us, it mostly whispered “never again."
Let’s say this: once you actually manage to get into the building (meaning: after decoding the multiple entrance codes, realizing the “gate” can be climbed easier than opened, walking past an aluminum door hanging on for dear life, and navigating through a floor that looks like it’s waiting for renovation funding) the room itself is visually okay. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and the air conditioning was quiet and efficient, which felt like small mercies. Location-wise, it’s close to the port and the train station, but that was totally irrelevant to us..

CuraçaoWe had to look for remote control of ac. Finally got permission to get it out of another room. Solved. Tv situation did not get solved, that was a bummer. And it was not because of the weather. Also were not told how to exit the building. Found the switch to exit eventually.
Very nice and clean room. Good location to the port.

United StatesBuy your own soap, we had to. The lady is extremely rude, she will tell you no reservation unless rapid check in is complete. they will charge for the room as a no show even if you tried checking in. No real person for on site check in. When I emailed her about shower dispenser missing in one of our rooms, she asked "why did I take it" REALLY??? I just checked in. There is so many things to say its too long to write. If your older or handicap there is no elevator and Not on first floor but second. Also, no place to hold luggage until a 3pm check in. Next time we will stay across the street, sweet lady on site, elevator, will hold luggage and breakfast in the morning.

United StatesWe tried to call this place at 10:15 am on June 25 (wednesday) to help with rapid check in and to ask where to hold luggage. The lady was extremely rude and kept saying I do not have reservation unless you do rapid check in. I kept saying I need to look for internet service, but until then where can we leave our luggage? She would NOT listen instead she kept yelling I need rapid check in or no reservation. She hung up and I kept calling back and it kept ringing and once a man picked up and soon as I said who I was he hung up on me too. Finally my husband went to a small hotel down the way and the sweet lady at PORTO di Roma hotel help us saying she had one room left for 3 people but she would let us (family 4) have it. This was now at 1045am. Guest House Montegrappa Terrace finally reach out at 715pm to ask if I am checking in. I said are you kidding 9 hours later you respond to me, after telling me I had NO reservation because I did not do rapid check in, after telling you it was a last minute booking at JFK airport and had no internet service. I said we had to find someplace to go since she did not help us. After that she stopped communicating Until next day when we had our 4 night stay prebooked ahead of time and had already prechecked with rapid check in they require. I had even but on the MEMO on the one night booking of June 25th that we were the same people checking in for 4nights on June 26 - June 30th. Apparently she did not read that memo or she would have known our rapid check in for June 26 -30 was done and same as for the June 25. But because she DOES NOT listen she put us through misery. She was NOT any better when we checked in on June 26th. Found out on our own 2 days later SHE could have told us restaurants would hold luggage for 6 euro each and then I would have gone to a restaurant to eat and do rapid check in like she wanted BUT I didn't know any of this and she DID NOT HELP. when I reported no shower dispenser she asked why I took it!!??
location and clean. But buy your own soap we had to. liked the kitchette area. charged as a NO show even though she said I had no reservation unless I completed rapid check in ( I had no internet service she didn't care)
