How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Loved the location, size and history of this hotel. It was close to everything we were interested in seeing. The staff was friendly and there is a fantastic coffee shop across the street.

I liked everything. I was there during a heatwave, which was uncomfortable. There was no airconditioning, but I understand that installing A/C in a 500 year old building is simply not practical (even assuming it might be possible). There was a good fan in my room, and it was enough. But coming to Florence in August, as I did, is risky in respect of weather. It would have made more sense to come in spring or autumn, but in my case it wasn't possible.
The location could not be better. It is central city, very near the Duomo, the Uffizi, and other main attractions, but in a comparatively quiet street.

One minus was that the windows weren't protected from insects.
The hotel is located very central. Room was clean, same with shared toilets. The personel was really helpful. There is a shared fridge.

Quite a bit of stairs to climb up, difficult if with suitcases or elderly people. No air conditioning, only fans but the building is much cooler than expected.
Beautiful 500 year old building with the best location within walking distance to all attractions. Lots of restaurants and shops around.

The room that I stayed in could get Hot in the summers.
The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring all areas of Florence! Very central while also quiet. They have suspended the service of Breakfast, however had coffee and tea available at all times.

We knew this before, so wasnt a problem, but the key things to know are lots of stairs, no AC (just fans) and no breakfast.
Incredible location a few minutes from the cathedral but on a quiet street. View from our window (at an angle) of the dome. Amazing old building, very quiet and calm.

Keep in mind if you are staying during the summer months, there is NO air conditioning. The room will get rather warm. But, two fans were supplied in our room. Also, not all rooms have a private bathroom. You will need to request a room with a private bathroom.
Very historic building in the heart of downtown Florence, and a short walk from the train station. Staff I experienced were friendly and escorted us to our room. Staff kept in contact before arrival.

- It could have been better if coffee was available any time and not just 8 to 11 AM. We had to go out at 7 AM and we could not get coffee. - Since this is 15th century building, there is no elevator, I knew it but if it was little tough to get to 2nd floor with bag.

I came around 9pm . It was difficult to see how to get into hotel as door was closed.Clearer signage could easily improve this . No air conditioning in room but a fan in room .
Lovely old world Italian feel to the Hotel . Nice pictures and plants around to create this . Very central to everything. I thought the shared bathroom would be awkward but it wasn't. There were 2 lovely bathrooms near room . Great value and staff very friendly. Coffee supplied in morning too .

One of the nights we spent there, someone was smoking and there was a hard smell of cigarettes in the corridors and in the bathrooms, it was rather unpleasant! But this was only one night.
The room was very spacious and we all slept on real beds (no sofa). The sheets were clean and as a whole we were satisfied with our room. The location of the hotel is in the very center of Florence, so perfect for tourists! At the same time it is calm and you can sleep well! There is also free coffee and tea till 11 a.m. and you can leave your luggage if you come earlier.
