Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere were 4 flights of stairs to the room without an elevator. The window out of the shower was not frosted so we could see out the window to other rooms while showering (assuming they could see us also). 10-15 minute walk to the closest station (which we only need to use when arriving/leaving Milan due to the good location).
It was a decent sized room. Was very easy to check in and out of as the instructions were sent via message. It felt secure. Good location as it was a short walk to duomo and had some good food/drink places very close.

United KingdomWe did unfortunately suffer bed bugs leaving my partner with about 10 sores/bites. Locking system efficient but time consuming to grasp on the first few times. 4 flights of stairs with no lift. Mistakes of course happen however we were getting ready one morning when cleaner came in telling us checkout was at 10am, advised her that we didn’t check out for another 2days to which she apologised for the misunderstanding however unideal to be walked in on
Great location. Only a 10 minute walk to Duomo and a 5 minute walk to Vetra metro station which is on the same line as the Linate airport metro station. Many shops and restaurants around but once in room on 4th floor you cannot hear nightlife etc

AustraliaThe locks can be tricky to get in and out of the room, and there are 4 flights of stairs to climb, so just be mindful of this when booking :)

AustraliaCURTAIN WAS MISSING. So we have no privacy. NO LIFT, we has to climb 8 flights of stairs. When we arrived IT WAS A MESS. the room painting was off the wall like it has fallen. The light switch cover has fallen off too. The fridge was not emptied, prev guests’ groceries are still there. An open tea bag was left on top of the fridge. Under the bed floor is dusty. The cleaner/management is doing a lousy job in managing this property. Cleanliness is important. I had to spend hours talking and reaching them out to clean the room and provide curtain. How annoying. You should have spare curtain when running an airbnb like this. No excuses. You shoulf monitor your cleaners/housekeeping and tell them off to do their job properly otherwise replace them.
Room is nice big screen tv with netflix etc

ThailandNo elevator we have heavy 3 luggage it was so tough and exhausted, to carry to the 5th floor, no amenity in the shower room, the room is not clean as a price. The door to access is difficult to understand and take a lot of time to get in. Moreover, you have to checkout at 10am it was very early for this price and not standard for the hotel.
Only good for this hotel is location.

United Kingdomwe did not receive the link to get into the property beforehand so we arrived at the apartment after a long day of travelling at midnight and it took over an hour and half to get into the building and apartment, luckily we met a man who lived in the block and said good luck they are really bad with getting the doors open, this panicked me and I genuinely thought we’d be sleeping outside all night. I managed to get hold of someone on chat and they just kept telling me to be patient when all I needed was the link! this was not good service.
it was a great location and only 10 min walk to the main centre, very clean and comfortable bed

ItalyThe room was a bit small for two people, but for a night or two it's ok. However, the floor needs to be repaired as some tiles are raised and it's very easy to trip on them. The walls are quite thin and not soundproof: we could hear people in the room nearby talking loudly late at night. Last but not least, the room is on a 4th floor with no lift. Not a problem if you only have small luggage, but a hassle if you have more.
Great location in a lively area full of restaurants and shops, 10 min walk to the Duomo and good connection with public transportation options.

Spainvery well positioned. the room is small, 2 people bump into each other in the room because there is too much furniture. it is on the 5th floor. not the 4th. the major problem is the locks. because I see that many people have written this and no action has been taken in time, it seems insensitive to me. it is 40 degrees outside, you go up 5 floors and you have to stand for minutes in front of two doors that you cannot open. the fact that the owner does nothing is a lack of respect for those who pay. this is the last time I will stay at a rbnb because the prices are almost the same as in hotels, but here the money stays in the pocket of a single person who probably does nothing else and the prices of jobs are increasing and young people cannot afford to buy an apartment. in hotels there are receptionists, maids, people who repair the elevator, people who clean the lobby. the money goes to more people who have insurance and support their families. I don't go to a single person who doesn't have the common sense to change the locks and doesn't do anything else and just sends standard emails. Shame on you for not respecting the people who pay you!

MaltaConvoluted entry system, the intense smell of mold, the unbearable stench of sewage, the ineffective and super loud bathroom fan, the uneven patchwork of flooring, the lack of a lift, the stinking and clearly unwashed towels and pillowcases, and the employees barging into the room to remind us that it's time to check out.
Location and the price. There is literally nothing else that is good about it.
