Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt was a quest to get inside, as there is no proper reception, but you need to solve all during the call. The rooms under the beds as for me and the carpet in the corridor were quite dusty. And the room is darker than on the photos. Some lamps were not working.
The location was good and we were the only guests. The towels were clean and there were all the mentioned facilities.

LatviaMattress in bed was very hard, I had problems with sleeping. Walls was soooo thin.. I was reading other feedbacks about that, so I tought I was prepared.. I wasn’t. On of the mornings I waked up, because some Russian lady was angry, that her family didn’t wake up early enough and where late to something. She wasn’t even yelling, just talking in normal voice. And I am a heavy sleeper, but I did wake up couple hours before my alarm because of that. The other night I couldn’t fall asleep, because there was some Indian dude, who was singing. I heard it all.. I didn’t find fridge in my room and there was no kettle, that was a bummer, I had to eat out every meal because of that. I didn’t heard anything about breakfast (that was included in the price) but I didn’t ask, because I didn’t want make a call to owner, who was talking in English, but with very strong Italian accent. When I didn’t understand what he said, he started to get mean, so it was just an unnecessary call.

PolandFridge did not work, and was dirty. Check in was terrible - I did not receive answer for question with checkin instruction day before arrival. On arrival day, I was stressed how to check in. After arrival I did not find any sign of apartmetns, so i tried to call host - did not answer first time. Second time, he answered, but due to accent I was not able to understand him and asked for SMS instruction of check in. He become not very pleasant and decline my ask, with statement that I have to understood what he is talking. Lucky me, someone was entering the building in this time and I was able to get inside.
Apartament was quite ok - old but air conditioned and with private bedroom what was good. Quite close to city centre and Vatican.

Perfect location for the stadium and very close to the Vatican and Rome city centre. The room was a good size and bright. Good breakfast at a bar at 2 minutes from the property. Nice restaurants nearby.

RomaniaThe bed was very uncomfortable. The screech could be heard from the street at the slightest movement. Very poor quality extendable sofa, as if you were sleeping on a plowed field. The bathroom door creaked as all the neighbors woke up. Air conditioner that doesn't work and another air conditioner that I think lacks freon, it doesn't cool at all. It needs some refurbish of the whole place.
Close to metro station. 20min walk to Vatican.

HungaryOne day there was no cleaning in the room. Short of hangers in the cupboard. No slippers, toiletries we paid for. Squeaky door. Could be a rack for suitcase. The entry to the bath is a bit high.
Breakfast was served @ a nice place with lovely owner. Location is good, quiet green neighborhood. They've looked after our luggage after check-out.

United StatesAt age of 81 am not good with all aspects of cell phone use. The owner is not on the property so this requires more knowledge than I have to be let in. When he came, he was not welcoming, rather rude, which is not what one expects at a B n' B.

LatviaWhen I arrived in the afternoon, btw 3 and 4 pm, the B&B place was locked, and nobody was there. The B&B is located in an apartment complex, and this helped me a lot. A neighbor from upstairs who happened to go downstairs, agreed to help me with calling the English-speaking manager by using his telephone - internet stopped working in my telephone. I will not describe here the details of the manager's communicative style by phone, witnessed by the neighbour who helped me, and later, when the manager finally appeared to give me the keys. I am used to the check-in procedures of (1) filling up/signing a registration form and of (2) signing a xeroxed copy of the passport's first page. None of these procedures was offered to me. The passport page was not scanned, but photoed by the manager with his mobile. I don't know if this is a peculiarity of this B&B, or these requirements are acceptable in the B&B sector of Rome. I paid the city tax in cash during the check-in procedure, with no payment receipt though requested. The bathroom sink and shower drains seemed clogged.
I liked the location, very close to Vatican. The neighbourhood is quiet, very close to a metro station. The manager Dmitri whom I met on the second day of my stay in the B&B was polite and helpful with practical advices, just the way I am used to be treated in B&Bs and hotels worldwide. Towels were changed and the bed was made on a regular basis. The people in the neighbourhood were very nice, trying to help me at the residence entrance and with taking me to a local Vodafone office so that the problem with internet access in my mobile was eventually solved. The neighboughood is quiet and nice, a good place to have a rest after intensive sighseeing.

United KingdomThey don't make it clear that contacting the property prior to arrival is mandatory, since there is no reception, wasting people's time; - low sink water pressure; - although the place was not dirty, it wasn't exactly spotless either. But the main reasons for my low ratings are: - the toilet bowl was not bolted to the ground; it was tilting freely left and right; very unpleasant; - the shower drain was almost completely blocked, making it almost impossible to take a shower; not sure how they can clean a room and not notice that.
Desk and chair; + fridge; + quiet, rear facing room, so not a problem sleeping with the window wide open; + great Wi-Fi.

Irelandunbelievable how impolite and rude a host can be from the first moment you arrive at his place - such communication we never experienced. The best compliments to an older man who is coming to you the next day to answer all the questions and solve all the problems. In general, the room is very standard with all equipment you expect to be in the room - just strange that you can find a kettle and cups but you won't find a spoon, fork, or knife. If you make a reservation with the breakfast, so be noted that breakfast - only a cup of coffee and croissant - you won't get anything similar as you get when you make a " Bed & Breakfast" reservation.

DenmarkA bit dusty here and there - in some places you could see fingerprints. The toilet seat was completely broken. The walls are paper thin - I could actually hear the neighbor's phone notifications. My room was the closest to the entrance, and both of the two nights I slept there, someone rang the extremely loud doorbell for up to several minutes at a time. They were just guests wanting to check in, but since there was no reception they just desperately pushed the doorbell. It was incredibly uncomfortable, and scary actually, waking up in the middle of the night in that way. It just felt super unsafe and unprofessional!
Nice room. Fridge and kettle. Okay location - it takes about 30/40 minutes walk to the center itself. Quiet surroundings. Nice wifi. Breakfast is served in a cafe close by, but just consists of a croissant and a coffee. Good place for a few days to explore the city.

HungaryAll in all it was okay. The room and the equipment was a bit old-fashioned but not bad.
Good location near from the Vatican and Ottaviano metro station. Around the accomodation the streets are not crowded with tourists. The stuff was kind, but they barely speak english except Alessandro. They cleaned the room regulary and changed the towels. The breakfast is one cappucino and one stuffed croissant (vanilla or chocolate cream) or whatever they have at the time you arrive. It's delicious, but if you'd like something other or have dietary restrictions it isn't suitable. But in the Tony bar the stuff was very friendly.

Austriathe walls/doors don’t really cancel the noise, you will hear neighbours coming home.. that woke me up once, but the rest was totally fine!
very cozy, enough space, good communication with the host (I arrived very late in the evening and he led me in via phone call), good location. I really can’t relate to the negative comments. I am a very picky person when it comes to cleanliness/tidyness and I can assure you that this place is great value for money.
