Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was perfect. The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed and new bathroom facilities. I loved a big TV screen.

LithuaniaI was quite disappointed with the doors in the apartment. The entrance door to the room was very thin, so we could clearly hear everything happening outside (especially since our apartment was located near the main entrance of the house). I also really didn’t like the bathroom door – it creaked very loudly and strongly, which was quite disturbing.
I really liked the apartment’s interior and design – everything was clean, neat, and well-organized. The location was excellent, and I was honestly a bit sad that I had only booked it for one night

IsraelWell, if you are in the middle of your vacation and have a heavy suitcase (from all the previous shoppings 🫣) it could be a bit of challenging taking it up the stairs 😝 Other than that, we regret not taking more nights to explore the city longer. We will definitely be back!!
The room has an amazing modern design, that makes the room look even bigger and lighter than it realy is. A tranquil neighbourhood within a 5 min walking to the old city walls and city center. Very clean and very relaxing, parking is either on the street or in one of the parking areas nearby. On the ground floor there is a small kitchen for anyone who wishes to make themselves something to drink (there is also a vending machine, and a fridge for the use of all guests) Very recommended!!

United KingdomWe stayed on the ground floor, windows facing the road - we could hear traffic (that was quite heavy considering the size of the road) and neighbours who started packing in the middle of the night. So bring the earplugs!
Brand new building with a garden, just 10 minutes away from the historic wall of the city and 15 minutes away from the train station. Spacious rooms and a comfortable bed.

United KingdomIf you can, plan 2-3 nights in Lucca. We stayed 1 night only and it was to short
The room was very nice and quirky. The bed was huuuuge, plenty of hot water in the shower (we never ran out, so there was still more) :) We parked just at the property and the walls of the old town were a pleasant few minutes walk away - perfect if you are coming by car! Excellent customer service with recommendations and advice given whenever asked (communicated via Whatsapp)

United StatesDue to my having to cancel a prior booking at an unacceptable location, which was my poor choice, this was a last moment booking. I didn't sufficiently query the parking situation. The establishment does have a clear sign on their courtyard gate. Since the building is on a curve, and I'm dodging other drivers, I didn't see the sign at first, and had to wander a bit in circles to return to spot it. It's helpful to look at the appearance of the building to see what it looks like, to spot it, especially when you're alone. The parking situation confounded me. Parking is on a grass covered alley adjacent to the right of the building. I mistakenly thought the parking was on the paved courtyard in front of the door. Please be aware, when you use the alley for parking, it is access for the other property adjacent to the alley, and the alley has a narrow, deep ditch along the fence line for the accommodation property. Since I was on a curve, both directions, and a street facing me, I opted to back into the alley for safer exits. There is a small pedestrian gate in the fence, but you have to step onto a small piece of plywood spanning the ditch. Again, watch your step. The access then is across some lawn and onto paving around the building. Once I figured out the parking, I was okay. I just prayed everytime I stuck my hood onto the narrow road that no one was speeding around the corner(s), as they are wont to do. The lighting was somewhat dim, from one small fixture. I used the bedside table lamp to help on the desk. The shower door, unfortunately, has a half inch gap. Be sure to put the one small rug in front of the shower to soak up the water that invariably exits through the gap. As a solo traveler, I bring my own coffee, filters and cone with me. There is a kettle, cups, sugar and wood stir sticks. I borrowed a plastic bowl and spoons from a friend to have breakfast. The keypad entry should be regularly changed.
The apartment is located in a lovely residential building, with exposed brick and stone walls and wood beam ceiling. I was fortunate to receive ground floor accommodation, as I don't travel light. There was a small table I used for a desk, a double bed, two bedside tables with lighting, some ceiling lighting (one fixture), and a shuttered window. I noted air conditioning, which is essential for summer time. I was comfortable without it, and only the thin quilt on the bed. The bathroom is spacious and had a lovely large shower. The common area had a microwave and refrigerator, plus a kettle for hot water. Water was supplied. There are numerous outlets. There is a paved seating area outside the front door with olive trees and other pleasant garden planting. The host was timely in keeping in touch with me as I self-checked into the facility. I did not see her in person. Texts on WhatsApp were in English, and for the most part clear. Parking is available.
