Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaThe road to the accommodation is a little bit tight, but it’s a nice challenge with great views. It was a little cold in the room, but with the blanket it was ok.
The view was incredible. The host is very kind and is there for you to help with anything you need.

PolandLocation - The village is a bit far from Lake Como and is accessed via very narrow, winding paths. Especially when it rains it's super uncomfortable.
Everything is very nice. It was very clean and cozy. We had a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains and a piece of the lake. The owners were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good contains only sweet things - croissants, Nutella, jam, nothing like cheese, ham, normal bread.

BulgariaThe hosts are kind and really accommodating. I'd booked the wrong dates, thus we showed up a month earlier. They still welcomed us and made our short stay possible. Really nice location, close to the lake bit up in the hills with a true v illage atmosphere.

We felt at home. The room is super clean with a familiar nice fragrance of freshness. The location is stunning with the windows open directly on the mountains. Home made breakfast prepared by Michele's mum and served in a large dining room.

Hungary-
A charming and great family business with friendly, direct hosts. The accommodation is a few km from Lake Como, but it's like being in another world. The approach to the house seemed difficult at first on the narrow and winding road for the last few kilometres, but by the next day we had adopted the local customs. While the lakeside is bustling, up on the mountain it is peaceful and quiet. The panorama is magnificent. The accommodation is very clean, the bed is comfortable and the room has a large en-suite bathroom. Breakfast is real Italian, with sweet flavours. Every morning there is also some kind of homemade pastry on the table, I have never had such delicacies. The kindness, helpfulness and directness of the hosts was very nice and although there were some language difficulties with the parents, it was not disturbing because I learned a lot of Italian expressions. Michele is the son of the parents and speaks English. This was the first time we stayed in B&B accommodation, but if it is like this we will prefer it in the future. Although we saw a lot of the area, I hope to come back here again. Thank you to the owners for giving us such a lovely holiday.

Very friendly family run B&B, very helpful and attentive and the B&B is in a beautiful setting. The location is very peaceful and just 10mins up the mountain from the lake and village of Dongo. The view from the balcony was amazing. The family make you feel so welcome and we would definitely love to return again one day.

BelgiumWhat a view! For that view you need to drive a road that some people would find difficult. But you get used to it and the locals are so understanding and assertive to help where they can to let you pass by. The breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast with good strong coffee and sweet pastries (every day something different). This small B&B is run by a very kind and warm family, where nothing is too much to ask. The son speaks good English and is happy to give suggestions for a good experience at the Como lake (places to visit/relax/shop, foods to try, hikes). The parents only speak Italian, but they are so heartwarming and kind that it doesn't matter and the charm wouldn't be the same without their personality.

United KingdomThe road up to the village is very steep with lots of sharp bends. It's fine if you know what to expect.
Great location with wonderful views of Lake Como. If you want an authentic experience of Italian mountain villages this is for you. Michele speaks great English and was able to offer us helpful advice about the local area.

ItalyThe rooms were super-clean with nice, spacious bathrooms, but Calasco, the hamlet, is near the bottom of the valley, 200 metres of altitude below the main village, Garzeno, where there are some shops and restaurants. Other than the BnB Zia Maria and the attached bar/general store, there is nothing in Calasco except beautiful nature. For people walking the Monti Lariani trail, stopping for the night, there is hardly any waymarking/signposting to and from Calasco, so you'll have to rely on your apps. The road from Dongo to Calasco is very narrow in places, requiring careful driving!
Paradoxically, for a country that (arguably) has the best food in the world, breakfast in Italy is often a disappointment, with mainly pre-packaged, processed pastries and crispbread. At Zia Maria it was little different, BUT they went out of their way to provide me with fresh bread and soft-boiled eggs. So special thanks to Michele and his mum, Loredana, who were extremely kind, even providing the local speciality, Braschino, plus Cappucino from the family-owned bar downstairs. Note that there's a small general stores attached to the bar! It's possible to order pizza from 'da Jean' in Gerzeno, which is then delivered.
