How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location of B&B Vin e Va is perfect for an old town stay. It is super central to Piazza Mercantile, which comes to life each evening and all the other attractions the old town offers. Vincenzo, the host is very informative and provided us with lots of helpful information for our stay.
The shower is a little cramped and the spiral staircase can be challenging with luggage. However, the location outweighs these small issues.

We didn't like that there was no shower gel outside of a packet one for one person and the bathrooms were tiny....we had eight people so it was great to have the whole place to our group but I couldn't imagine sharing with other families.

Had to walk up a tiny stairway to reach the room with bags over 20 KG. Booking should have informed us, we are more than 70 years old. Airport taxi could not bring us to the door because it is in the historic center. We had to walk more than 1km to reach the property. Booking should have told us. Owner should take some PR lessons. Breakfast very limited

Verified reviewEverything about the property was wonderful. The check-in process was smooth, and the room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable, and the hosts were polite and helpful. I especially enjoyed the terrace. The bathroom facilities were satisfactory.
It was very noisy because the room faced the main street. People were making noise under our windows throughout the night.

Verified reviewFantastic location in the old town, but close to the new town for easy access to the station and buses. Despite its closeness to bars and restaurants in the nearby Piazza we found it nice and quiet. Good communication with Vincenzo before our arrival with access and WiFi information. The room was clean and towels were changed after a few nights. WiFi in our room on the ground floor was excellent. It’s small for a triple room but this didn’t bother us at all as we were out most of the time, and found it to be a great base.
We only had 4 hangers and there were no drawers, so clothes storage was an issue. The website references toiletries but the only ones provided were shower gel sachets. There’s no safe in the room, and no kettle in the kitchen that we could see. The beds have plastic sheets which are loud when you turn over, and make the bed uncomfortable. And the room is quite bright at night because the blind doesn’t quite cover the window, so it isn’t great for sleeping.
each room has bathroom products which are shower gel/shampoo in single-dose format plus towels and everything you need. all rooms have a safe in the room and if you didn't see it you could ask. the sheets underneath are all cotton and obviously for hygiene we have the mattress cover which honestly has never given anyone any problems as it is of excellent quality. the curtains are completely blackout and the same size as the window. for any request or information we are always available and if you had any doubts you could ask and we would certainly have satisfied you.

We didn’t realise that to get to the room we were staying in required you to walk up extremely steep stairs without a bannister, a scary prospect with a four month old. The bed in the room was uncomfortable and the sheets on it didn’t fit so they kept coming off in the night, making it not enjoyable to sleep in. Room was only cleaned/towels changed after four days when we requested it. Breakfast consisted of basic coffee and microwaved croissants so we tended to forgo it.
In the historic center the rooms are all the same as is the way to climb the stairs. if you have any special requests just say so and I would give you a room on another floor. The stairs comply with the law as shown in the photo of your booking. the room is clean, changes take place on the 3rd day of stay or upon prior request. on the 3rd day you were in the room all day and for this reason you didn't give us the opportunity to make up the room. breakfast here is always the typical one with cold cuts, cheeses, croissants, fruit juices, yogurt, Nutella, jams, biscuits, pain. As shown in the photo, you can see that the croissants are fresh and collected every morning from the pastry shop. before writing to discredit our daily work dedicated to satisfying our customers, know what you are booking especially if you decide to stay in a typical area such as the historic centre, if you have any requests you can ask our staff who are here to help you.
