How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location on top of hill with stunning views including the lake. Also great sunset views from viewpoint (short walk) Had lovely meal up there too. Lovely family hosts, Paola served up a most spectacular breakfast. Clean and comfortable room with balcony. Lovely views.
Got a bit hot in our room. Perhaps a fan.

Verified reviewThe area was great, but the road up there is treacherous! The breakfast and views were great.
There is no room for flexibility. The staff is very professional and a guest seemed only a guest at their BnB.

Verified reviewHost was amazing, the apartment was clean and tidy. We had there huge boufet for breakfast included in the stay and everything was really tasty. Location is extremely peaceful and quiet.
Its little hard to get there with a car, prepare your nerves (and your wifes😂) since the road is really narrow.

Verified reviewI loved the location, on top of a hill with a STUNNING view on the lake and the Alps around it. I also appreciated the absolute kindness of the staff: they have been extremely kind, welcoming, friendly, and authentic. They even mailed to me a book I had forgotten in the room.

Verified reviewLocation is ok good for 1 night.
Quite noisy, bathroom outside, kitchen basic. I would not recommend if you have a baby. Bathroom small hair drier old style.

Verified reviewThe room
It's very hard to get there. You need to drive in a difficult road or take the cable car which leaves you around 15 mins away from the place but you need to walk up a very step hill.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was excellent.
There is indeed a private bathroom but it is separated from the bedroom by the hall which is not a private. Although the area is quiet, the rooms are not insulated for the noise (from inside and outside). The access to the B&B is through a very long winding narrow road.

Verified reviewLocation is quite near to Como city but the drive is little bit difficult since that road is very narrow. You need to be ready to pull back to make room for someone else. If You are looking for hikes, nice view and trip to the lighthouse this is for You. Our room was okay, but chilly and the mattress too hard. Breakfast was nice. Be ready to chare the table with other quests. You can also hear other quests to Your room. We felt that the prize was too much for this place. The lady was really nice.

Verified reviewWe only stayed one night, but it was an amazing experience. The location "is" an adventure itself, getting there you travel thru a small and tortuous road. Near the place there is a nice view from the lake and the city of Como... tip: it is also great to see the sunset. The owner was very nice and help us a lot. It is a small village there, but still the place is located in a good position, there are good restaurants just some meters from there.

Verified reviewThe hostess- Paula - was one of the best! As we did not have a car and had to use Como-Brunatte Funicular; Paula kindly picked us up and dropped off too! The breakfast was wholesome. Property can be modernised a bit but who cares when you’re in mother nature! The google maps don’t show the pedestrian pathway that cuts through from Funicular station to the property. About 10-15 min walk depending upon fitness levels. Just 5 min walk to Volta’s Tower is the best sunset view.
The breathtaking view from double rooms only! We had quadruple room so didn’t get those beautiful views.

Verified reviewPaola was really kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, everyone found something for themselves :) The road to the apartment is sometimes stressful (😅) but because of the view it is definitely worth it.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was amazing, very wholesome and cheerful, served family style at a big table, a great start to the day! The view and the cool breeze from the balcony was incredible, you can really hear and feel the surrounding forest rustling peacefully as you drift off. If you're looking for a place that's a bit off the beaten path with stunning natural surroundings and lots of glorious hiking, but still accessible to the hustle and bustle of Como below, it would be hard to find a better place!
It can be slightly challenging to reach this hotel if you are a nervous driver on narrow roads, but the bus service and the funicular were easy to use and the bus literally picks up right at the villa door! If you prefer a really soft mattress, our room was on the firm side, but no more so than most EU mattresses tend to be.

Verified reviewOur room was clean and it had new bathroom that was just renovated. It is great value for the price we paid as other options in the area were a lot more expensive.
The B&B Villa Mirandola is located up in the Mountains in Brunate, it is very hard to get to it as the roads are very narrow. Hostess complained that we came late as check in was until 6pm (we arrived at around 10pm, but I emailed the hostess thru the app that we will ariive late). Breakfast food was not great
