How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewIts close to public transportation, you can also find everything nearby- restaurants, cafes, supermarkets etc. Ludovico is SUPER helpful, he made our stay comfortable. The room itself is also really comfortable, I especially like the mattress & the pillows. You get to have breakfast in a cafe across the street for a full on italian experience.

Verified reviewGreat for an overnight in Milan. It was close to restaurants and cafes and easy walking distance to duomo. Check in was easy given it’s done remotely with a very helpful owner. Very clean and thoughtful treats supplied. A car park is available a block away.
Liked everything, although note that shower is v small.

Verified reviewWe stayed in Room "2" The aircon worked very well and there was a coffee machine with pods. Plenty of bathroom supplies including shampoo, body wash and toilet paper. Great block out rolling shutters. The location was great, as was the breakfast of croissant, fresh orange juice and a coffee at Gran Cafe pretty close to the accommodation.
I booked this room months in advance of our stay. As we are traveling for 5 months we are relying on free wifi for WhatsApp ect. On arrival I had immense difficulty communicating with Ludovico as I couldn't connect to his wifi. He seemed very impatient with me because of this. Once connected all was ok. It could have been so much easier than he made it. I booked a deluxe room, however I do not believe that is what we ended up with. There was only 1 small side table, and limited room for luggage. No desk. The fridge was hopeless at cooling anything. The bathroom was compact to say the least. The lady at the front office, is unfriendly and in no way associated with checking in. I would have preferred to stay in room 3 which I believe to be the deluxe. In all our travels we have never had such trouble checking in to a room that I don’t believe was what I paid for. Done
the rooms are exactly as they appear in the photos, they are all the same, yours is also a little smaller in the sleeping area but has a larger bathroom, after all it is not an apartment but still a room to sleep in, there is no lady at the reception, that is the doorman of the building and is not one of our employees. the fridges are mini fridge bars used at most for drinks. the doors are opened remotely, as you have seen, so once you enter the Wi-Fi (which works up to 15 meters from the b&b) is 1 meter away. the people before and after you have entered like this for years and without major problems. we are sorry that you did not find yourself as well as others before you, but everything is subjective.

Verified reviewLocation.
It's not a B&B - you get a coupon for a coffee, pastry, and juice (the fresh O.J. was wonderful) at a bistro 2 blocks away. The shower was very small - a big person could not fit into it. Getting access to the room was a little convoluted, as the owner wasn't available to meet you. The best parking available was a few blocks away, which wasn't convenient for getting 2 large suitcases to the room (traveling for 7 weeks).
the bistro you are talking about is 20 meters away. the parking is 150 meters away, and we do not manage the parking, it is the only one nearby, no one is stopping you from unloading your bags and then going to park your car. a b&b is a private apartment where breakfast is offered, in our case an Italian breakfast is offered as also specified on Booking (just read) where we also specify what is given and that breakfast is not on site. The showers are 100cm x 80cm, I'm quite big and can fit in there easily.

Verified reviewThe host was very kind and responsive—always quick to reply and provided clear, helpful information. The room was very clean and had everything we needed for a short stay.
While the room was on the smaller side, it wasn’t an issue for us since we only stayed one night. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience—we appreciated the hospitality and attention to detail.

Verified reviewLovely little place - very clean, bed super comfortable. Ludvico was very helpful when I couldnt figure out how to unlock the outer door to the suites - you have to turn the key twice counterclockwise or the deadbolt doesn't open all the way. Just different than in my country. Security of the place was good, I felt very safe there. Excellent location within walking distance to Duomo and central Milan. Carrefour Express right across the street if you need a drink or snack. I didnt get a chance to use the free tickets for coffe and croissant at nearby cafe but it was a nice gesture. Very good price for central Milan. I would certainly stay here again.
Nothing. Although you dont get access information until you arrive, Ludvico will call you promptly and walk you through how to access your room. Just make sure your phone is charged and you have WhatsApp.

Verified reviewThe room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast of coffee and croissant was appreciated. Netflix and other channels were available for our enjoyment. The room was close to our bus stop.
There was a tea and coffee machine, but no cups to drink it out of or spoons to stir in sugar. The location isn’t very close to the subway station, but walkable. On the afternoon of our arrival someone must have been giving piano lessons in the building because we kept hearing the same song repeated through the walls which was unexpected.
For coffee there are both disposable cups and sticks to stir the sugar. The nearest subway is 900 meters away, which is also the Milan Cathedral. We can't control what the people who live in the building do, I hope it was a nice song.

Bit tricky to find, even with directions. Little on the small size wrt room and space.
