How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWhat a wonderful find! The property was amazing, the owners were so lovely and kind. I wish I'd actually spent more time here. The design was recent and exceptionally tasteful, and the photo's do not do the place justice.
Not that I didn't like it, but accessibility isn't the easieist. So maybe for elderly contact property first.

Verified reviewSuch a lovely place! The owners Giovanni & Antonella were incredibly welcoming and very kind to us. The room was clean, it was modern but at the same time very cozy and with the beautiful view it’s 10/10. The breakfast was very good with freshly baked bread and croissants. If we could, we would have loved to stay longer!
It is located in the mountains so wouldn’t recommend it if you’re old or have problems with stairs, ‘cause there’s a lot of stairs. But it’s perfect for couples and families!

Verified reviewAbsolutely wonderful bed and breakfast! The room was modern, spotlessly clean, and tastefully decorated, with every detail thoughtfully arranged for comfort. The view over the lake was simply breathtaking—waking up to such a peaceful, serene landscape was a true pleasure. The entire property is very quiet, which made it the perfect place to relax and recharge. The owners are exceptionally kind and welcoming. They were always available to offer helpful advice about the area and genuinely enjoyed chatting with their guests, making us feel right at home. At morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast made with fresh, local ingredients—a perfect start to the day. We truly appreciated the high quality and newness of the rooms, the stunning lake view, and the warm hospitality. Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable.

Verified reviewThe accomodation was clean, comfortable, well-aquiped, cosy with a beautiful lake view. The owner brought fresh baked ciabatta and croisant from a bakery, served perfect breakfast. They helped in everything in tour organising, we had perfect garage place, they were very kind during the whole stay. We booked a double room, but they offered and upgraded 3-bedded appartment for free.

Verified reviewThe most beautiful and picteresque view to the lake, the delicious breakfast (local products) with magnificant view. The owners are very nice, super friendly, helpful, gave us many useful tips for our vacation. Mr. Giovanni created very comfortable funicular for luggage. The apartment super clean. The location is good - quiet, the bus station, the shop and the bar Calvasino is close to the apartment. It is comfortable to swim in the lake downstairs from the apartment. We would like to come back.

Verified reviewThe room and the house is very cozy and clean, has everything you need, you feel like at home - good lightning in the room, new bathroom and breathtaking view from the balcony to the lake. Breakfast is on the terrace with the stunning view as well. I can say it looked much better in reality than on photos even. The owner Giovanni was the most friendly and helpful, caring about all the details, thank you so much for this!
Everything was perfect

Verified reviewThis was an incredible stay. I absolutely love Lake Como, especially the town of Lezzeno for its peace and quiet. I've been coming here for three years, and this was my first time staying at Antonella and Giovanni’s place. It’s a beautiful little hotel, perfect for those who appreciate the Italian atmosphere, cleanliness, and want to enjoy nature and birdsong. We had a room with a lake view, and it was simply amazing. The room was very clean, and the hosts were extremely kind and welcoming. The surroundings were calm and serene — pure bliss. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. We truly enjoyed everything. The only downside to note is that the villa is located on a hill with stairs, and it's not accessible by car. So getting there with suitcases might be difficult. However, we were traveling with backpacks, so it was totally fine for us. I especially want to highlight the cleanliness — everything was spotless, and the room was cleaned daily. And the bed! The mattress was incredibly comfortable! There’s also a small shared kitchen downstairs where you can enjoy tea or cocoa. It truly felt like we were guests in someone’s welcoming home.

Verified reviewMy husband and I had a wonderful stay at B&B Val Valerna. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with a small balcony that had a beautiful view of Lake Como. Our hosts were exceptional. Very friendly and helpful…they really made us feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.

Verified reviewThe property was easy to find by car, although parking was a bit of a tight fit but readily available. The view from the room was spectacular overlooking the lake. The hosts were amazing and I loved our chats in the mornings over a delicious breakfast. Some may find the steps up to the property a bit of a challenge but for me it was all part of the special charm of the place.
Nothing really, possibly a better table in the room for working at but not a problem.

Verified reviewThe host is very friendly and easygoing, always smiling and chatting with us like friends. They also provide plenty of information about restaurants and transports, and give good recommendation of what to do. The room is very nice, clean and spacious with a cute balcony facing the lake. The breakfast is wonderful, with kinds of hams and cheeses, boiled eggs, coffee and orange juice.
We love the hotel, nothing to complain. But the transport is tricky. It is usually one bus per hour, but we were not lucky when we went back from Bellagio at 5pm, the bus was 40 minutes late and after waiting for almost an hour, we only found that the bus was all packed and had to wait one more hour for the next one. We tried to call uber but no one responded our order. The bus journey is unpleasant and easy to get carsick.

Verified reviewvery friendly hosts helped us a lot on planning the bus and train trip to bergamo; delicious and varied breakfast; spacious room and comfy big bed and amazing lake view; very close to lezzeno/crotto bus stop, and to bellagio is about 20-30min bus ride
our stay is perfect, nothing we didn’t like; one thing worth mentioning (which has nothing to do with the property) is bus is often not on time, so the bus timetable can only be used as a rough estimate and waiting for more than 20min is kind of normal, so make sure you plan ahead - just fyi

They recommended excellent local spots for dining and gave us great advice on how to get to Milan and the best places to park. The breakfast was excellent. We truly enjoyed getting to know them and are very grateful for all their help. We will definitely be back.

Verified reviewPerfectly located with a great view to the lake and mountains. Just 2 minutes walk to the main road Bellagio-Como, bus stop for both directions, local minimarket and even a bar just the same very pleasant short walk. Free parking, quiet place, excellent breakfast served by our generous and caring hosts Giovanni and Antonella. They were always ready to help, providing us with all info we needed. Apartment was very big and clean, all accessories and amenities are in great condition, Wi-Fi was very good too. We spent five nights there, that was very nice and memorable time - definitely can recommend to everyone who will visit Lago di Como.

Verified reviewThis was the first stay of our trip to Italy and as first timers, Antonella & Giovanni made our stay absolutely incredible. They are so warm and welcoming as hosts, love to have a conversation over a delightful breakfast and their B&B is beautiful. Not only the view but the comfort, cleanliness and small amenities like fruits, cold bottled water etc were nice to come home to. The bus is easy to catch from Como to get to the property & a slight walk up stairs which is very typical in Italy. You’re away from the hustle and bustle of peak tourist spots but close enough that a small bus trip gets you there in no time. The hosts also shared with us locations of great restaurants and a hidden away beach were we could go for a dip in the lake. It was such a wonderful experience. We truly felt like we were home and never wanted to leave.
There was nothing to dislike. We enjoyed every moment. 🥰

Verified reviewIt's hard to find words to describe how much we loved Lake Como – it was love at first sight. Our eyes couldn't believe we were seeing it in person. Giovanni and Antonella played a huge role in making our experience unforgettable. They created a truly easygoing and friendly atmosphere, and their small hotel is beyond praise! All the rooms and facilities are clean (cleaning every day), the bed is large and very comfortable. The room stays cool despite the lack of air conditioning. There is a private balcony with such a fantastic view that it feels like a dream. We didn't even want to go to a restaurant for my wife's birthday – we just decided to have dinner on our balcony, enjoying the view and the quiet. There are many more advantages to the Val Valerna hotel, but the main highlight is the people who own it! Despite my rather poor English, we understood each other perfectly and had great conversations over breakfast, which was plentiful and delicious in the Italian way. We wholeheartedly recommend staying at Val Valerna and hope to return ourselves!

Verified reviewVery good view, clean, with a special lift to bring up luggage. There are some private parkings which are very important for this place because parking is so hard to find. The hosts are super super nice and take care of us so much. Kids friendly!!! My 3 year old had a very good time!
