How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBra Guest house was in a brilliant location to see a concert at the Verona Arena - literally the venue is just across the square from it. Room had all the requirements I required including a safe, AC and fridge. The room was clean. The lift was also handy as my room was on the 3rd floor! Found the location and the guest house safe as a lone female travelling on her own. I would stay here again, should I be in Verona again. Shout out to Cristian who was very informative as to places to stay and any other questions I had during my stay.
Plugs nearer the bed. To recharge phone I had to take out the light beside the bed and use the light on the other side of the bed. Using the light nearest me and charge my phone meant I would have had to turn off the AC. Instruction manual to be left on top of the table. I only found it on the 2nd day of my stay.
We're really happy you enjoyed your stay with us. The feeling was truly mutual; you're an extraordinary guest. I just want to point out one thing: none of the outlets in the room are connected to the air conditioning; the air conditioning outlets are close to the motors and inaccessible to guests. We'll listen to all your suggestions and thank you again. Kind regards,

Verified reviewVery close to Arena, Bra Guest House is situated in a historical building, very clean and absolutely safe, with concierge downstairs and elevator. The room is very-very clean and has everything you can think about: air conditioner, kettle, Nespresso machine, tea and coffee set-up. Bathroom is big and well equipped with all necessary amenities. There are umbrellas and cushions for Arena you can borrow, so everything is very good thought and cared about. But the most important is the star of this guest house and the biggest credit to this property - Mr. Cristian. He welcomes you so great that you are starting to feel at home from the first minute of your stay. Mr. Cristian gives very detailed information about places you can visit, also advises the best non-tourist places for food and drinks, like Rosa Blu for pizza or Kristal bistro for best croissants and coffee. Also in the room it is nice to find small cookies and sweets for tea and coffee. There are slippers and towels tied with blue ribbon, so sweet. Definitely coming back again to meet these nice people and experience this warm hospitality.

Verified reviewThe location, immediately opposite the coliseum where we were booked for the opera, was absolutely perfect . We were able to leave at the interval to avoid the toilet queue and get back in ample time for the start of the second half. 3 mins walk! Cristian, the host was very welcoming. It was spotlessly clean, very quiet and air con very efficient. There was also a small fridge in the room so we could keep cold drinks/ food if required. It’s on Piazza Bra so plenty of buses stop there from the station . Right in the centre of things. We walked everywhere.
It depends what you want, it is essentially a large en suite bedroom with a small communal area with table and chairs for the other 3 bedrooms to use. It was no problem for us as we never saw or heard another guest and we are out every meal.

Verified reviewThe location was perfect, especially if you’re going to the summer opera. The room was very spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Cristian is an incredible host who is very responsive and gives great recommendations for everything in Verona. His guidance improved my experience!
You are in a bustling part of the Old City, and it can be noisy at night (bar crowd, street cleaner, etc.). The provided ear plugs definitely help.

No coat hooks, nothing to drink from(cup or glass) could do with a couple of English/German TV channels
Thank you for the review, we are happy that you mostly liked the room, but your review needs two small clarifications. 1) We leave two glasses per guest in the room together with a courtesy bottle of water. The day after you arrived you asked for two more glasses and they were given to you, so it shouldn't have been one of the negative points. 2) the room has an excellent and large wardrobe equipped with hangers to hang your jacket, doesn't that seem enough? 3) we have a large TV with digital terrestrial, it is sufficient to change the languages of the programs that allow it (for example films, to have them in the original language), if you don't know how to do it, remember that it is better to ask the manager for help before saying that something is missing. I like receiving suggestions from guests, I find they would be more useful if communicated to me directly during the stay rather than published afterwards when I can no longer do anything with them, this certainly applies when they are suggestions that can lead to some improvements in the structure, and unfortunately this is not the case since the two things you ask for are already there in the room. Wishing you future stays filled with your dream coat hangers and entire sets of glassware. Best regards.

Verified reviewThe location of the place could not be better for attending the opera in Verona - right on the piazza and in the centre of the old town. It was clean and well equipped, had a lift and secure entrance. The host was very helpful and available, and helped us out of a travel difficulty. The bed was comfortable and the room quite spacious for this town. Dining options start at the front door and there are plenty of choices close by. There is a PAM supermarket just around the corner. The bathroom is large and the shower good. AC worked well.
There was some early noise from the rubbish collection right outside. Roadworks have changed bus routes and made it harder to get to the station.
A little note on your review; on the negative sides you have included the moving of the bus stop due to the works to upgrade the electricity network. I would say that it is not really something attributable to a lack of ours, believe me, I have no decision-making powers on public works or even on the movement of bus stops, I am sorry for the inconvenience encountered, but it would be better and more correct to include it in a review to the city on portals other than this one. In the room we provide very useful earplugs which are useful in case you are sensitive to the noises of the square, we are right in front of the Arena, or the cleaning of the streets. I wish you future quieter stays and with immobile bus stops! Best regards.
