Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing, this was an absolutely perfect one night stay to visit the archaeological site. We would absolutely stay again if returning to Pompeii. If you like coffee stick to the espresso for breakfast, the cafe’s cappuccino was the worst I have had in Italy.
Wonderful little B&B, perfectly located for train station, short walk to Pompeii ruins and right near the central square. One street back so quiet at night. Met by the lovely friendly host who showed us around the room and recommended a great little local place to get dinner, always great when you are the only tourists in a restaurant on a Saturday night. A little kitchen which could be used by guests if needed would be ideal for a longer stay. Our triple room had a little balcony area which we enjoyed too. Breakfast is served at the cafe on the corner, a croissant and coffee.

We want to express our most heartfelt thanks to Signora Giovanna, a very special lady and a wonderful host, who took such great care of us, offering advice on what to see, where to go, and what to taste to truly experience the Campania region. We felt at home, warmly welcomed, and very well looked after. In addition, the apartment is cozy, extremely well-located, close to the train station, bus station, city center, and supermarkets. Just as a remark, I wouldn't say I didn't like it, but I was surprised to learn that a Neapolitan breakfast (included in the accommodation price) consists of just coffee and a pastry. For us, as Romanians, breakfast usually means something more substantial. However, we eventually came to enjoy the coffee and pastry as a nice side dish after having something more filling first.

IrelandThe neighbours upstairs and adjoining were extremely noisy (dragging furniture around, loud music, etc) but this isn’t the fault of the hostess given the nature of the building.
- The hostess is very warm, welcoming and helpful. - The location is perfect for Pompeii itself. - The room was very clean, comfortable and well-equipped.

United KingdomI did not realise that due to the layout it was a shared kitchen area with other guests, but it was not used much by others but in the end it was not a problem. I was concerned that as our bedroom was next to the kitchen it might be noisy in the very early morning/late night, but the other guests were very quiet so we were lucky. This is not a criticism but an observation: Due to the lay out of our en suite room, in relation to the bathroom ventilation window, which opened out to the bedroom instead of to an outside wall, the particular double and single bedroom we stayed in is much more suited to a couple, family or sole traveler. I turned on the TV one evening so my friend did not have to listen to me tinkle in the toilet or do a No 2! As I say not a criticism but just an observation that some might appreciate.
Signora Giovanna, our Host, was extremely helpful and communicative and gave directions to anything we wanted to know about Pompeii town especially eating out. Breakfast was both pastry and coffee of any choice with a voucher from the Host. Also we made use of the coffee machine in the appartment kitchen. Bed was comfy but that is very subjective. Bathroom was very clean and appeared to be new. Sensory floor light on entering the bathroom was a nice touch for the middle of the night pee. Saves fumbling looking for lights in unfamiliar room. Mosquito screen installed in the windows which was also useful as well as mosquito plug in place if needed. Balcony was clean with 2 chairs and table.

AustraliaGiovanna’s amazing hospitality! She was so kind and really made us feel welcome. The property was centrally located (9 min walk from station) and within 10 mins of the entrance to Pompeii. Giovanna also gave us a coupon for a coffee and croissant at the local cafe which was a nice touch. We only stayed one night but this stay was very memorable thanks to Giovanna.

United KingdomThe front door key was a bit tricky. We had once struggled to get in, although Giovanna came to help us as soon as I texted her.
Giovanna is a heartwarming host and full of hospitality. She promptly answered every question we asked. The location is just perfect for the Pompei sightseeing. It is close to the beautiful cathedral. It takes 30 minutes to walk to the Remains’ main gate, but the pathway through the city's center is safe and enjoyable.

United KingdomGiovanna is a little peach. Her English is limited as is our Italian (basically none existent lol). She will communicate with you via a translation app on her phone. Giovanna's apartments were clean, comfortable and quiet, big tick. You have the use of a fridge which is a godsend for drinks etc. There is a communal kitchen area to make hot drinks. There is no breakfast however Giovanni provides tokens to take to Mazzini Coffee shop/bar where you can get a coffee and croissant free of charge. We purchased fresh squeezed orange juice to complete our breakfast. Mazzinis is a pleasant coffee shop/bar and the staff were very friendly. It is easy to reach when you know the directions!! As you come out of the main door of the apartment block on to the street you turn left. Walk past the barrier to the end of the street and turn right then take a left. You will come to a turnstile which brings you on to a main road. Turn left and Mazzinis is approx 50m on your right. Pompeii train station is approx 10 mins walk and Pompeii Scavi Villa Die Misteri train station approx 30 mins walk. We fully enjoyed our stay in Pompeii and would definitely recommend Meastro Giovanna xxx

United StatesEverything was perfect.
Amazing stay at Giovanna’s B and B! Great, safe, quiet location just off the Main Street. The rooms and baths were just renovated and spotlessly clean and the building itself was very nice. Giovanna was maybe the best part — a wonderful, friendly host with great suggestions for restaurants and cafes / dessert. We would definitely stay here again!! Great value.

Switzerlandthis apartment was a great choice. our priorities were (1) clean, (2) quiet, and, if possible, (3) centrally located, and we booked it for one night ahead of our visit to pompei. it fulfilled all three expectations: it had been recently renovated and was immaculate, located in a dead end, and thus enabling us to sleep with the windows open, and was just minutes away from the main square. the owner, giovanna, met us there punctually. she was very kind and welcoming, with a ton of personality. especially appealing was how much pride she took in the place, which she obviously is highly personally invested it. we didn't cook during our stay, but we did make tea and espresso. the kitchen is well appointed, and giovanna even stocked it with a dozen spices (not typical, in our experience). a couple of things you might consider drawbacks: the kitchen is an inner room, i.e., does not have any windows, and there is no access to the balcony from the middle room, which was the room we were in. you can still open the window and hang things out to dry, but you can't go out onto the balcony. we did not mind either of these things. the place smells nice, is swiss-research-lab-level clean, and very quiet. and the bathroom had been completely renovated recently, tastefully, and at great expense it looked like. you'll have a good stay. the breakfast was not at the apartment, but rather at a café a few minutes away on foot. it was rather on the light side (a croissant and a beverage), so you'll definitely want to plan to have lunch, but it was a very pleasant experience we're glad we had: the café was patronized by locals only it looked like, the owner was very welcoming, and we probably would have just stuck to the touristy areas and missed the local color it provided, if it hadn't been part of the deal. all in all, we were very pleased with our choice.

BelgiumThe host didn't speak English. She used a translate app. Despite taxes are included, Giovanna charges extra for tourist tax. (€2/pers/night). The kitchen was common for all guests iso part of the room. We booked this place for the parking space, but we had to park in the street. Breakfast at the coffee house nearby was included, but very limited: one croissant and 1 coffee. Chocolate milk for childeren wasn't included.
The room and bathroom were nice and clean. Washing machine and (common) fridge is available. The room has a balcony.
