Dear guests, thank you for acknowledging the cleanliness, the air conditioning, the in-room fridge, and the peacefulness of the area – at least during the times when the barking from a neighboring property wasn’t disturbing (a situation we’ve already reported to the authorities, though it’s beyond our control). That said, we can’t help but point out a certain inconsistency between your review and the rating you gave us. The B&B was clean, cool, quiet, and everything worked as described… yet we received a score of 6 just because we weren’t located where you expected, or more accurately, where you failed to check. Unfortunately, we’re starting to notice a recurring issue with some guests aged 55/60 and over, who tend to arrive without reading basic information, without checking the map, and in some cases – like yours – show up on foot, clearly exhausted and frustrated, as if the 2.7 km from the town center had come as a surprise. We’re located in a lovely little hamlet of Bellagio, away from the noise, and this is clearly shown on all booking platforms. It’s a 5-minute drive or a 30-minute walk – not a mountain hike, but certainly not ideal for someone expecting a hotel in the middle of town. We state very clearly in our listing and in the confirmation message that having your own vehicle is highly recommended. Complaining afterward because this information wasn’t read is not something that can be blamed on us. Guests who book without checking anything and then express disappointment about reality might want to reflect before leaving public reviews. We are a small, family-run B&B doing our best to provide a pleasant stay – but we can’t change geography, and we certainly don’t run the local taxi system. And while you mentioned you “only took water” from the minibar, reality was quite different: you consumed all the snacks and paid nothing. We chose not to escalate this, considering your age and the situation, but still – this behavior is not acceptable, and frankly, it’s shameful. One doesn’t get to skip dinner, eat everything available in the room, and then penalize the hosts in a public review. That’s not how fairness works. We sincerely hope that in the future, you choose accommodations more aligned with your actual needs – and that your travels involve a bit more planning.

Thank you for your review and for appreciating our breakfast and hospitality. However, we feel it's only fair to share a thought: giving a score of 7 when everything — comfort, cleanliness, kindness, breakfast — was appreciated, just because we're not right in the historical center, feels a bit unfair. Especially since our location is clearly indicated before booking, and nowadays with Google Maps, anyone can check in advance exactly where a place is, how far it is, and how easy it is to reach. It’s a bit like giving a football team a 7 even after they played brilliantly and won — just because the stadium was outside the city. Or like eating very well at a restaurant and lowering the score because of the location, instead of rating the food. Or even watching a great movie and rating it lower just because the cinema wasn’t downtown. Moreover, if you had actually stayed in the heart of Bellagio, you would likely have faced other issues: traffic, noise, lack of parking, and much higher prices. We still hope your stay left you with good memories… maybe, on second thought, even worthy of a 9.

Dear guests, thank you for appreciating our breakfast and the kindness of our staff – we always do our best to help our guests start the day well. However, we were disappointed to read some of your criticisms, which we believe are unfounded and, more importantly, stem from inappropriate behavior on your part. When we asked you to return the chairs from the breakfast room – which you had taken to organize a private meeting with friends in your room – you reacted with evident annoyance. Still, house rules exist for a reason and must be respected. The breakfast room is off-limits outside of designated hours, and opening drawers clearly marked “Staff Only” is simply unacceptable. We also suggested using the two chairs from your private terrace (which are not fixed and can be moved inside), but your response was: “It’s cold outside,” which made it clear that your intention was not to find a solution but to bend the rules with a bit of cleverness. When we pointed out the situation – confirmed via security cameras – you tried to justify yourselves with excuses that, frankly, we did not expect from adults. For comparison, my parents always behave respectfully and politely when they travel. As for the room: it meets all the standard expectations for a B&B. It features a comfortable bed, a pouf, a worktop, and a private terrace with two chairs and a table. If someone prefers a spacious suite, we would suggest booking a luxury hotel in the city center – with a very different price range as well. Regarding the dogs in the neighborhood: we are located in a quiet, natural setting, away from the noise of the city. Occasional animal sounds are part of the experience and are, of course, outside of our control. Lastly, about the location: it is 2025, and tools like Google Maps allow anyone to see exactly where a property is located, including satellite and street views. If someone books without checking and then complains, perhaps the issue is not with the accommodation itself. We understand that for certain guests of an older generation, using these tools may not be second nature – but that’s hardly a reason to leave a misleading comment.
