How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The location was not the best though, next to a train station and bit of sketchy people around, but we were with boys so no problem for us.
The place was nice, the staff was also very nice!Sara answered all our questions and checked us earlier.

Italian Tv connection was a bit poor but youtube worked perfectly.
Sara really welcomed us and helped us when we asked. The room was always clean.

The staff were flexible with sign in and the place was clean and tidy. The shower a little small but triple Italian style so can’t complain really. The place was the typical price you pay for this time of year and a last minute booking. We were happy. The rooms were big and the balcony nice. Plenty of food options nearby plus great little friendly neighbour hood.

Quite thin walls so you could hear people in the hall.
Very friendly staff. Room was cleaned every day. Clean bathroom with clean towels, hairdryer and soap. Comfortable beds. Convenient location. Quiet with the windows closed.

Excellent accommodation. I rarely give 10 but Domus Nikolai deserves it. Very good contact with the staff. They can help any moment via whatsup. We could check in at 10 a.m. and visit the city. Very clean in the apartment, cleaning service is every day, like in a hotel. The apartment is very well-equipped, there is also a small kitchen unit, with a sink, a kettle, a coffee machine, a micro, an egg machine. And you get a free of charge breakfast in the fridge every day, with delicious ham, yogurt, cheese, jam, apple cakes etc. You have to buy your own bread and vegetables though. Beds are very, very comfortable and the apartment was very quiet . I am a very light sleeper but I've read opinions here, in booking and risk. The people were right, one can sleep very well in here. The trains do not disturb, you can hear them very little. And it is 600 metres from the station so it's a perfect location to visit local towns. The tho old town in Bari it's 1 km of a very pleasant wold through Murat district with lots of shops, and little bars and restaurants. The neighbourhood was safe. We had a marvellous stay.

The staff at reception was very polite and helpful. However, reception is available only after 3 pm, for check-in. This can be a bit of a problem- probably there can be some self-check-in arrangement or an option to leave luggage if you arrive earlier? Otherwise, I would recommend the place. Location is also ok, so close to Centrale and central area of Bari.
I liked the arrangements made for a comfortable stay - within a compact space you have also a table with chairs to sit on, some drawers, etc. Comfortable bed, lighting, etc. All very clean and thought over to serve well. Special thanks for the complimentary breakfast, it was a very pleasant surprise. Excellent quality for the price!

Noisy family in room next door came in at 1am and were extremely loud for 30 minutes and then got up at 6am and made a bunch of noise. Turned a good experience bad.

Stayed one night for a stopover in Bari. Located right next to the train station which was perfect for our needs. Nice assortment of food available for breakfast.

Very friendly and helpful receptionist! I had to check in a bit earlier because it was raining and they were so nice to let me in. The room was cosy and clean and it is near the train station which was super comfortable to me.

Bathroom plumbing and layout were a bit odd, but everything worked.
In a convenient location, this quirky accommodation has been put together with many thoughful touches, such as the fridge and facilites for making breakfast etc This is a good place for a city break or stop-over in Bari. Very good for station and about 20 min stroll to old town

Few of the walls are a bit thinner and if you have less considerate neighbors you can hear them (mainly from the corridor ). :(
It’s a cozy place 15mins on feet from the city centre. They provided little snacks and breakfast (bacon, eggs, apple , yogurt etc). We could store our luggage and Gabriele let us in our room before check in time ! :) It is very close to the airport only 17mins by train and (3mins walk to reach the station)

We had an outstanding stay at our accommodation in Bari, Italy. Everything was superb – the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the cleanliness of the entire place was impeccable, and the comfort level exceeded our expectations. The value for money was excellent, offering far more than we anticipated. Although breakfast was not included, the thoughtful provision of snacks, fruits, yogurt, sandwich ingredients, coffee, and tea made our mornings delightful. Our family felt truly welcomed and cared for, making our stay a memorable experience. Highly recommend!
