The food in Orbetello restaurants was not very good. It seemed like all these places were tourist traps.

The room had high ceilings and a private bathroom with shower. Breakfast was typical and simple Italian breakfast with cornetti and coffee. Outside the door on the street is a bar but that did not affect us at all. We heard no noise. We got a parking license from the room and could park our rental car like 5 minutes walking distance. The promenade around the city was beautiful at sunset.

B&B Corso Italia 58, in Orbetello is located on the Corso in the city center, in a ZTL (zona traffico limitato). The town has some very narrow streets. One can park briefly along the lungomare, to bring luggage, on foot to the B&B. We were provided with a parking permit for the lungomare from the B&B. The B&B itself has stairs only, no lift, to B&B’s entrance on the second floor, with interior stairs to a spacious room with plenty of storage. One radiant heater kept the room warm. Paola our hostess, runs the B&B single handed. She is knowledgable and resourceful. She was able to contact a frequently closed ceramics shop and have the proprietors open up for us and we happily purchased some lovely pieces. Our stay was in January, where we found the town without crowds and left to the local population who are very fun, friendly and welcoming. Orbetello is very useful-full of independent shops-including a movie theater, 5 min. from our door. The lungomare is nicely kept and essentials can be found at the Conad store, or the covered market that has oil & wine on tap, fresh fruit, spices, salumi, vegetables and more. For dining out, we highly recommend Pizzaria Tre Stelle, a friendly and reasonable priced establishment. For breakfast, the B&B featured a “sweet” (pastries) breakfast, good coffee, fruit flavored yogurt, but no savory foods. Our room had a comfortable bed, but could use a brighter ceiling light, more hooks in the bathroom, higher bedside tables, an extra luggage rack and art on the walls. _______________________________________________________________________________

Noisy environment from the main street and bars, making it hard to sleep even using the earplugs. No room cleanup or replenishment of amenities during our stay.

You have to walk quite a ways with suitcases, over cobblestone and then up several steep staircases. Its a workout None of that was explained in the listing or in prior communication. Also the town tickets people who drive on certain streets if you are not a resident. Even locals told us the town makes a killing confusing people and then ticketing them for it. The property manager never explained any of this despite multiple emails and a phone call to clarify directions and parking info. We were really frustrated by the whole check in process. Finally, the plumbing system makes really crazy sounds anytime you flush the toilet.

Is not comfortable to share a bathroom (and it was a small bathroom), but I didn't notice that when booking the room as no one in the comments mentions it. What's the worst is that it's located above a bar so you can hear loud music and people talking until 2 am in the weekend, which translated into two restless nights.

It was well organized and clean. It is in a good location in the city center.

Access to the B&B was up a long flight of stairs from the street entry door, which should be mentioned as we are in our early 70's and climbing up with luggage was not easy. The bedrooms were up another flight of stairs from the kitchen/lounge area. The lounge area was cluttered and the sofa looked quite flopped out.

Host was very responsive. Room and bathroom were clean. Quiet location in the center of town. Breakfast options were tasty baked goods, fruit and cereal.
