The hotel and rooms are a little dated, but not too bad. The hotel staff didn't speak English very well, but their younger family member did which made things a little easier.

This was a large hotel, with plenty of parking round the back. The rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was provided with a reasonable selection.

The terrifying road over the Splugenpass to get there from Swutzerland.

Fabulous location, surrounded by mountains. Lovely swimming pool. The best shower we had had in the 4 weeks we have been travelling so far.

Staff were just the worst we've ever encountered, 20 mins waiting to book in whilst person on reception answered phone calls and spoke to a friend stood by reception.... Then in the restaurant we were definitely given the cold shoulder treatment, no communication and after asking for the bill we had to ask again and again, eventually got the bill after waiting almost an hour This is a hotel I will never use again and to be honest I will advise others to avoid

Nice location, plenty of free parking space, coffee served round the clock at reception, pizzeria restaurant just opposite side of road. Hotel staff was very helpful.

The receptionist upon my arrival wanted to send me away to another town although i fully prepaid via Booking. He was stubborn about this. Also, no dinner when you arrive even it is 2145 not 1000.

By the road, the Alpine passes moto riding route. Great choice not to sleep in expensive Swissterland. Like the backyard for the moto parking. The morning breakfast service and the lady were great.

A bit noisy in the rooms on the road side. Far away from downtown Chiavenna, but not a big issue, it’s only 1 to 2km depending where one wants to go.

Parking facilities for a group of 10 bikers, the room I got with fantastic shower place I should say. The staff, taking care of the guests all the time. The breakfast buffet offerings everything one could wish.

Poor breakfast and the boss controlled the food. You cannot have coffee if you do not ask for it, despite there being an automatic machine. The heating did not work in the bathroom

There was nothing we disliked in the hotel it was the best expirienced hotel we had ever stayed in before.

That there was a swimming pool and that furniture given were acceptable. We had a joyful vacation in the hotel and it was a pleasure to stay there in hotel aurora.

None of the staf spoke english Had to turn in my key when I went to town and had to be in before midnight because they just closed. First thing when unpacking I put my book on the table and a lamp fell apart. Window closures were broken so couldn't open them for fresh air. Electric cover duct-taped to the wall. Boiled eggs at breakfast were definitely not fresh, which is not expensive to actually do. Breakfast only had 1 kind of white bun.

I would go back to Chiavenna but not this hotel. Our room was something out of the sixties. The air conditioning was turned off already in September so we had to risk mosquitos for fresh air. It took ages to find the toilet flush which was a button on the floor, I have only seen that before in caravans. The pool closes at the end of August, the only reason we booked this hotel in the first place! Difficult to open the doors onto our...balcony.

Beautiful area, stunning scenery and a surprisingly thriving village. Parking was good
