Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCould use a couple of bowls, we couldn’t find any, just for cereal in the morning, but that’s just a small thing. Also, there is very little natural light, however as we were only in the room for sleeping it really wasn’t a big deal.
After reading a lot of negative reviews, I was a little worried about our stay, however, we were pleasantly surprised. The small, but cosy apartment had just about everything you could want for your stay, including hair straighteners! Lauria came in after our second night while we were out and cleaned and tidied for us. Yes the bed was a little harder than we are used to, however, it didn’t affect our sleep. The location was excellent, a 10 minute walk to the Trevi fountain and the Spanish steps, and only half an hour walk to the colosseum. If we return to Rome I would be more than happy to stay here again.

United StatesNo one managing speaks any English. No sign anywhere to know where the place is. Front door has no name for Aurora 31 .one of 18 apartments says Maison Aurora. No air conditioning in 90 degree Rome. Far from Metro as 15 minute walk of 2 kilometers either station. No bath amenities( no shampoo, conditioner, facial tissue).no USB ports signs says complimentary soda and mini bar NO. Sign says microwave None . Halls dim and stairway dark to use Via Arora is closed and the management did not tell us we had to drag our luggage upa closed street to find this unmarked Bed and no breakfast.Dingdongs are not breakfast The nexpresso machine was broken upon our arrival so no coffee. Bed is platform with 3 inch mattress, worse bed in 30 plus years of travel. Hard bed on slats. That the " manager" does not speak any English and does not understand English was multiplied when we sought help at 9 am .after knocking and ringing the door at 9am she was awakened , annoyed and came out in her hot pants skinny top lingerie. Angry we woke her. No daily clean service but every 3 days but manager came in and pulled out all our chargers, lowered refrig so ice melted and insulin at room temperature. She came in and did not service but interfered with our stay Photos available if needed
Breakfast was awful..packaged croissants and toast put out for our stay, not an Italian breakfast liked having lots of room WiFi worked in one room, not front room

Greece1. The toilet needs to be replaced so that it works PROPERLY. It is really uncomfortable for the visitor to experience something like that. 2. There was no air conditioning, so if you wanted the heat on or off you had to text the host. That's a little uncomfortable for the visitors too. 3. The "hot water system" is not very good. There is red button and when it is on we supposed to have hot water. The host did tell us that the water doesn't come immediately and that we had to wait about 20 minutes. That wouldn't have been a problem for us, but... we actually had to wait approximately 1 and a half hour to take a bath and not just 20 minutes. All in all it is an OK choice and would be a very nice choice if some things were fixed. Mind that is more than 100 euros per night, so when you pay that amount you expect at least to be functional. I didn't have high hopes I know what I paid ( not much though not little), but at least the basics as I said before.
1. Breakfast was fine, coffee was great. 2. The host was fine. 3. The room looks like the photos.

AzerbaijanWe asked the landlady to keep our luggage for some time after check out because we were leaving late in the evening. She made up hundreds of reasons to refuse. So we had to spent our time with our luggage. If you want to make tea or coffee, don't use the kettle, it doesn't work, if you manage to boil some water in it, you won't drink it then because the water turns into some disgusting liquid. But the landlady (lives next door) So called breakfast sounds strange.

IsraelWe wanted to leave our luggage before the check in time but we were refused by the owner although the lady who manages the unit leaves next door. The only way to turn on and off the Aircon is by the lady next door (she doesn’t speak any English ).

We loved our stay!! So close to town and all the sights but conveniently out of the hustle and bustle. Nice and quiet- Clean and cozy rooms. Lauria is so gracious. If you don’t speak Italian, be prepared to figure things out on your own-her English is quite limited. No worries tho- thank you google translate! The restaurant downstairs- Picolo Mondo was absolutely fantastic. It was a lovely accommodation and we will definitely stay there again if we come back to Rome. 😊👍
