Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing really to dislike. One of the bedrooms has a clear glass door to the living room which was a little awkward with two couples. However, it was a minor issue compared to all of the advantages of the apartment.
This apartment is wonderful! It is like an art gallery, with amazing art everywhere you look. We loved sitting out on the spacious terrace, especially at night when the temple ruins in the valley were lit up. The beds were very comfortable. What really made this place special was Sergio, the owner. He communicated quickly and made our arrival so easy. He carried all of our baggage up and had cold wine waiting. He even gave us packing tape so we could pack up our ceramics for our flight! Parking was no problem on the street in front. What a find! Can't wait to return.

United StatesA magical setting unlike any other apartment we have ever stayed in. The graciousness of the host, the superb artwork-- it was like sleeping in an art gallery-- were unparalleled. The interior lighting accentuated the lovely art, and the expansive view over the Valley of the Temples was breathtaking. We were sorry to only be there one night.

AustraliaNothing.
It's no wonder that this apartment has such a high score. First of all, its location is excellent. It's only about one kilometer away from the town center and it takes only 15 minutes to walk to the railway station. There are numerous restaurants and bakeries around. From its balcony, you can enjoy an unobstructed sea view and clearly see the Valley of the Temples. The night view is even more enchanting. Sitting on the spacious open-air balcony, sipping fine wine and admiring the charming night scene is truly a great pleasure in life. My wife is particularly fond of the balcony of this apartment. Because we have been in Italy for many days and haven't washed clothes yet. The sunshine in Agrigento is especially good. The apartment has a washing machine. After the clothes are hung out, they are already dry in just a few hours. The area of the apartment exceeds 100 square meters and is furnished with all kinds of artworks. The owner of the apartment introduced the sources of the artworks and their authors to us. Friends who are interested in artworks mustn't miss it. The owner of the apartment, Sergei, was very hospitable and courteous. We arrived at the apartment before 1 p.m. because we cancelled the trip to Cefalu. Sergei let us check in early and personally received us at the elevator entrance. When we were leaving, he insisted on helping us carry the luggage and seeing us off to the car. This made us feel the warmth of the Sicilians. It is worth mentioning that Sergei can also offer local tour guide services. He drove us to the Valley of the Temples and accompanied us in, explaining the historical anecdotes of the temples to us. This saved us a lot of time walking and we gained much more knowledge about the architecture of the temples. As he treated us as guests, he only charged a nominal fee. Sergei introduced us to a nearby restaurant called Nuccio. This restaurant is of Michelin-star quality but not expensive.

CanadaN/A. Not a thing to complain about.
This apartment is what you’d imagine a vintage ‘60s celebrity bachelor pad would look like. It is gorgeously designed and with authentic vintage features and furniture, but with a beautifully updated bathroom. And the view from its huge terrace is absolutely stunning, while the host was so kind and helpful. You can’t help but feel like a million bucks staying here and next time I’d stay longer than just the night (as we were passing through). I hope to go back before too long and have no hesitation in recommending it as a unique, beautiful alternative to a traditional hotel room that offers amazing value. Also, we both found that our beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and slept soundly.

CanadaI'm being a little picky here but the bath towels could be better and more of them. We had 1 large one and 3 smaller ones. Must have been a mistake.
The apartment is very comfortable. We only stayed 1 night. It's a perfect location. There are lots of cafes nearby for dinner choices. The view is over the top. Our host, Sergei, was wonderful. So friendly and helpful. A very charming man. It was easy to access and he was at the apartment to greet us and share a lovely glass of Sicilian wine. Delightful.

We loved this apartment! The beds are very comfortable, the living room is spacious and filled with interesting artwork and there is a huge terrace from which to enjoy an amazing view over the valley, with the temples illuminated at night. It’s easy to park nearby and there are excellent restaurants 5 to 10 minutes walk away. Above all the owner Sergio who lives next door is the best host we came across on our travels. United KingdomAbsolutely nothing
We liked absolutely everything in connection with this apartment. From the beginning the hospitality of Giuseppe was something else. He helped us with the luggage and prepared us a welcome drink. Informed us about all the sightseeing, beaches and restaurants in Agrigento. Everyday while we were away he made small adjustments for our comfort like cleaning dishes and removing the garbage. Regarding the apartment, it's hard to call it an "apartment", it's more of an art gallery, the interior style is impressive, everything is modern and posh. To mention that it's a penthouse apartment so the terrace is absolutely breathtaking, I saw something like this just in movies. The terrace night view absolutely blew my mind. Outside, during the day, there is plenty of parking space and the street on which the property is located, is one of the most beautiful that I saw in Sicily, bright, with everything you need on it. At the end the hosts gave us a goodbye present, as I said previously the hospitality was on another level. Will miss those days a lot...
