How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was fantastic right in the heart of Cagliari. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Enrico was a great host, he gave us lots of information about where to go & what to see. The room was spacious and very comfortable. No street noise although right in the heart of town. Highly recommended to stay here.
Nothing.

Verified reviewWe spent one week in Cagliari with my boyfriend and stayed here. We loved it's walking distance to the main food streets, old town, port, main bus station, and train station. The room is very spacious, I like the old apartments with high ceilings. We almost used the espresso machine every day in the room and they have a cold water tap that we filled our bottle every time we came to the hotel. And Enrico is very friendly, helpful and so quick with the replies when you need/ask something. He helped us a lot with keeping the backpacks in the hotel after the checkout until our flight. We're quite happy with our choice to stay here.

Verified reviewThe property was super clean and well organised. It’s located in the heart of the city centre so you can basically go everywhere just by walking a few minutes. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the proximity. The staff is very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property for a stay in Cagliari.

Verified reviewThe room was much larger than we expected and the host, Enrico, was the true definition of a good host. He greeted us with a coffee during the check-in process, gave us some very good pointers on where to go in the city (sightseeing, dining, etc.) and even accepted to let us leave our luggage during our last day in Cagliari (flight was late in the evening). Also, items in the room such as snacks, coffee pods and so on were replaced daily and we were even left a complimentary soft drink each in the room. Regarding location, the area might seem dodgy at first, but rest assured that it is very safe and very close (walking distance) to the heart of the city. Would seriously recommend this place.
I can only criticise one thing. There is indeed free WiFi, but it is extremely week to the point that my phone couldn't even detect it. Apart from that, I cannot criticise anything about this place and I wouldn't let that put me off booking it.

Verified reviewLocated in the historical center of the city, a few minutes walk from the train station, admirable host, Enrico provided valuable suggestions (restaurants, wine tasting, ice cream), stylish room with very comfortable bed. The two pluses: 1) in the reception area there is an automatic water source where you can take cold water or room temperature water or cold fizzy water, 2) although no breakfast possibility, biscuits/toasts/2 types of jam, Nutella, honey, coffee and tea was provided. A special gesture of hospitality was two cans of "welcome drink" prepared in the fridge (the size of the fridge permitted to put big water bottles in it.). Bravo Enrico. Your approach to hotel guests is exemplary.
Nothing to complain about.

Verified reviewThe hostess is amazing. Extremely kind and nice, always ready to help. She is available to guests at any time. She manages to compensate for all the shortcomings of the accommodation. I recommend taking the rooms with a view of the street. The others have no light. Thank you for everything, we will be happy to be your guests again. I recommend🙂

Verified reviewHas to make a last minute change after booked hotel didn’t tell us about the construction and scaffolding blocking our room windows and deck. Art Guest House was lovely. Great host who showed us how everything worked. Also had a cold water station to fill your bottles; both still and sparkling water. The room was very spacious and so clean. Great place to stop for a night or two in Cagliari. Great central location to the old town.

Verified reviewIt was a few minutes walk from the railway station. It is so close to all the shops and restaurants. The owner Enrico was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He told us about lots of places to visit and how to get there. The apartment was really lovely and we couldn't have asked for more. There is a fridge in the room which is handy to keep drinks and snacks. Plenty of pods available for the coffee machine in the room. It even had sparkling, still and ice cold water on tap in the hallway which is perfect for filling an empty bottle before going out exploring.
