How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

WiFi terrible, one Aircon was broken and was very hot inside. For the size of the apartment, I’m surprised there is no washing machine. There is certainly room for it.

The walls seem hardly soundproof. Steps, closing of doors and even light switches in adjacent apartments were surprisingly loud. However, there was no noise coming in from the street. The shower is indeed tiny but that did not bother us.

Lack of cleanliness in the common area of the property such as the elevator. The toilet paper had stains on it. The bathtub was damaged.

Super close to the city center, supermarket around the corner, rooms are nice and clean, absolutely recommend staying at this place.

The digital codes for all rooms were confusing, and 2 out of 5 codes did not work and changed after the checkin. Luckily the host responded on Booking with the new codes.
The location is good and the rooms are comfortable.

Shower was a bit small. There were no bed sheets. Wifi connection not adequate.
Location was great, bus stops and supermarket closeby. Quiet house and neighbors. Apartment is equipped with many trash cans. Big terrace.

The kitchen is very poorly equipped, there is also no stove, so only an oven is available.
The apartment is very beautiful and specious, in good location. It is also easy to park around it.

They made us fill in a form before giving us the exact details for checking in. Required 3 codes to get in.

Little shower sizes and short beds - for north European men ;-) Never met the owners/ responsible ones in person - I appreciate personal encounters :-)
We liked the location (walking distance from Bari Vecchia), the staff availability (fast responses and friendliness in the chat) and the cleanness of the rooms.

The check in system is way too complicated and time consuming. You have to fill in all your details (per occupant) on a website to check in. Without this, you cannot get the code to access the place.

The height of the ceiling in the mezzanine (where the second double bed is located) is very low. I am only 163cm tall but my head nearly touched the ceiling so the mezzanine is not good for anybody taller than about 165 cm. The bathroom is tiny. There’s nowhere to hang clothes while showering and nowhere to hang wet towels. Also no place to put makeup bag when applying makeup. The shower cubicle is the smallest I have ever seen. If you are above average in weight, it’s a squeeze to get into the shower cubicle as the gap between the sliding doors is extremely narrow. It’s so small that if you turn around in the shower your back touches the water pressure lever and you can easily unexpectedly turn off the water supply or move it to very hot or very cold. This could prove dangerous if the water temp quickly goes very hot. The apartment is large but there’s lots of space / rooms that are not used. There were coffee and tea facilities in the room but no fresh milk, sachets of long life milk or powdered milk so we couldn’t make tea or coffee.
The property was well located close to public transport. It was in a safe location. The apartment was roomy however the owner hasn’t made good use of the space.
