How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A bit dated, some furnishings showing their age.
Amazing location right in the heart of Florence, next to all the sights and attractions with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Warm welcome gifts of drinks and candy. Host was nice and prompt with any queries asked.

It was very noisy outside and the windows are way too thin to block any noise. The apartment is a bit old and the kitchenette is tiny. The bathroom is quite dark
The location is amazing, in the center of everything. The host is nice and responsive.

Since you are in the middle of all the action, you’ll hear all the late night party goers coming and going.
The location was prime! Short walk to all the attractions and shopping areas. Check in was seamless and Silva communicated every step of the way. She was very kind to leave some amenities for us such as water, cookies, and some yummy nespresso pods!

Located over restaurant - can get noisy early. Minor annoyance.
Location was very good. Place was large and had all the things you want in a vacation 1 bedroom.

The bed sheets and pillows did not smell good and I wondered whether they were washed every time. Also, the coffee machine was broken and when I used it, it spilled all over.
The instruction from the host was easy to understand and we could get in without any difficulty.

The kitchen is very poor. The appartment is small for 4 people. It was not very clean.

The shower is a little small and dark with doors that don't quite meet but it does the job, and it wouldn't stop us from returning!
Lovely apartment. Great central location. Lovely to have air conditioning unit in each room. Found a fabulous little restaurant on our last night - if you go down the side of the building and turn right, it's on your right.

Aesthetics reminding of 1980th taste for plastic and glitter. Most of the facilities and handy work were of modest level. The toilet seat was wobbly, the table was wobbly, the gaps around the bathroom door frame, etc. So if you appreciate the shabby chic style, than this place is for you.
Walking down the stairs and through a courtyard, we were in the very centre of Florence. All necessary equipment was available and in working order. It helped us save money on food, which in Florence is anything but cheap. Provided treats (coffee in various forms, sweets, etc) exceeded expectations. Obviously these people care for their guests.

Great appartment at the centre of florence near to the river and the famous ponte vechio very warm house with all the neccessities. If we choose to vist florence again sure it will our choice for accomodation.

Location was incredible! Everything we wanted to do during our stay in Florence was within an easy 20 minute walk. Keep in mind this is more of an “Air BnB” kind of stay, but checking in was easy with instructions and staff assisting with letting us in the building the first night. Staff was excellent and communicative; I could not have chosen a better place. Thank you!

we literally were there for 10 minutes, couldn’t stand the apartment. the pictures were not as the department itself. the quantity of photoshop used in those photos is quite impressive. even though is near piazza della signori, it’s not comfortable for a family traveling. the apartment it’s above a restaurant, so you will be hearing plates crashing and smelling a lot of different foods. Ana was the host we had to meet for paying. she was rude, impolite and careless. she was screaming at us like it was our fault the apartment was not what we expected as we saw on the pictures.
