Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGreat location, so easy to reach from the station. Lots of activity outside and so close to the Mercato Centrale with lots of food options but not noisy at all. We slept very well. Easy walk to Duomo and all the sites.

CanadaBeing in the thick of it, it was a little noisy, not a real big deal, I travel with ear plugs, and it's amazing what you can sleep thru when your tried.
Great location, super clean rooms, easy to find, and close to everything you may need and want to see. Very friendly host, who provided recommendations for food

AustraliaIt can be a bit dusty outside because of the market downstairs so I could not open the window to enjoy fresh air.
Easy access to Firenze Centrale about 8mins of walk if you drag a luggage. Downstairs is the market and it was only a few minutes away from all the major attractions. Bonus is the various food options downstairs are very nice, excellent quality but cheaper than around the touristy area. Room is standard, my room can fit with 3 ppl. Everything is self-check in. Owner reached out me via Whatsapp beforehand to send me all the instructions of how to access the room.

VietnamNo elevator but it's not a big deal for us. We had to pay 36 Eur for our 2-3 days in Florence, it's not a big amound of money and beyond the control of the host, however I still want to say that this touriest tax does not make sense to me, we already spent a lot to host, food, tour, museum, etc... and they pay taxes to the city. So this tourist tax make we feel that tourists are not very welcome in Italy and they just want to force us to pay more money for nothing.
I think compare to apartment around, this property has the best value, we have everything we need for a family of 4, a clean kitchen with washing machine, tv for the children, 2 double beds. The location is too good, 500m from the train station, and everything we need to visit in Florence is within 500-1000m around.

United KingdomDisclaimer - I may not have noticed these points before hand but they may be mentioned in the booking profile. - no lift and 2 floor climb. - the property we stayed in is more like a flat with 3 rooms; each one is private with its own keys but the coffee machine and kettle is in the common area. The property is situated along a lively street with many leather and souvenir stalls. While this adds to the local character, we were frequently approached by vendors even when we weren’t looking to engage. Although nothing concerning occurred, my wife felt somewhat uneasy navigating the area alone and preferred to go out together. No issues with the services that the property itself, however this is more related to the street it’s on.
Multiple restaurants nearby including Firenze Mercato. Walkable distance from all the spots to see. We booked the studio room which has a washing machine! This made our trip a lot easier. Easy to get to from train station. Property staff reached out in advance and were easily approachable via WhatsApp at any point. Cleaning staff was very polite as well.

ItalyWindows don’t open/close easily. The bedroom door has a very basic lock and could be upgraded to a safer door. Also related to the door, at night, a lot of light enters the room from around the bedroom door frame. It isn’t sealed well. Lastly, the pillows were too firm/tall to allow a good nights rest.
Location, cleanliness, and ease of entry to the property.

PhilippinesThe stairs were not a joke for heavy suitcases! BUT since we stayed 5 nights we didn't mind. However, if you're only staying a night, be warned you may need to lug your suitcases on two consecutive days.
I really loved staying at Residenza San Lorenzo Firenze. I'm so glad I did not get swayed by the existing negative reviews. First off, it's very close to the train station and other primary sightseeing places. There are also several close groceries, supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It's also very close to the Mercato Centrale! The property also has a microwave and kitchen area, which was perfect for rainy days when we would just stay in. Moreover, the place was clean and was cleaned daily! I was surprised because usually these are done every fortnight in other similar accommodations. I also had no issues accessing the place and instructions were clearly laid out. It's a perfect place for my mom and I, and will definitely be booking this property again if we find ourselves in Florence.

United StatesThe walk from the train station was manageable but the cobblestone street were no joke. Give yourself plenty of time if you are dealing with luggage. I’m no spring chicken so it was a challenge getting 2 weeks of luggage up the stairs! 😩
Everything was as advertised. The location was awesome, right outside the market. If you like food and shopping you are in the heart of street vendors and market food.

IndiaI would not say did not like but if you are carrying a lot of luggage and have a kid. Look for a spacious property he has. Do not go for a studio. It’s really compact to open luggage and then there is no space to walk.
In central location. Most of the attractions are on walking distance. Even train station is nearby and you could easily walk with your luggage to property. Everyday once we left the property, they used to clean and provide clean towels.

The location is a 5-10 minute walk from Firenze Central Station, with a supermarket, gift shops, restaurants, and attractions all nearby and within walking distance. We received useful information about the apartment and tips for the city before we arrived, which was very much appreciated. The room is cozy, albeit a bit tight for a family of three (two adults and one 8-year-old). The coffee and tea were excellent, although no spoon was provided—not a big deal overall. Such a pleasant stay!

AustraliaNo elevator, getting 3 large suitcases up the stairs was very difficult. Not the fault of the room, but worth noting for those considering. The banister was also very shakey. Definitely not sturdy. There were undesirable characters on the outside of the building. Many times we found the front, bottom door open. There seemed to be an elderly gentleman coming and going, leaving the door open. I was with my family and didn’t worry, but if I was on my own, I’d be a little scared. I stopped to look at a leather jacket at one of the stores on the same street on the way back to the room on one of the nights and the person manning the store insistently asked if I was staying at one of the airbnbs. This made me feel uncomfortable. Also, mornings are very noisy with people setting up their stalls.
Location definitely the best about this place. We also can’t fault the actual room. It was clean, comfortable even though a little small, and had everything we required. The decor was a pleasant surprise and it was obvious thought had gone into it. Coffee pods provided as were tea bags and sugar. Water too.

CanadaWe would have preferred a nice sitting chair in the room itself so that the bed isn't the only option for relaxing or researching options for the day.
This was a fabulous location. We were able to walk to all of the "must see" tourist spots and was only a 4 minute walk from the train station. Beds were really comfortable, great "old world" tile flooring with modern updates in the room and bathroom. There is a common area with 2 couches but it was mostly used to dry out umbrellas.
