Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaSometimes you can slightly hear the trains passing by, but it was not a big problem since they stop in the night. Otherwise everything was perfect.
The location was very close to public transport which made it extremely easy to commute. Not only the train station is close, but also a tram station from where you can get a tram that takes you directly to the Castello. Also the room was very big and clean.

The location was good and bad … obviously super handy to be next to the train station and the tram that takes you in town in less than 25min. But you also have all the noise and the speaker from it …

United KingdomThis is a 1 star property and it is very much that. It was cold when I got there mid afternoon but was told the heating would only come on later afternoon so I had to wait in the cold for an hour. So ended up getting into bed to stay warm! The property is in a fairly remote area. It’s 500 metres from a fabulous restaurant but at night, it’s not a pleasant walk. I took a taxi back!
The property is VERY basic. But the room was very clean and spacious. And the bed was super comfortable! I went to the Rho Fiera and it is 1 stop - 5 mins away, next to train station which is amazing. Whilst the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast there’s a cafe called LOSTE that is 200m walk that opens at 8am. They have THE MOST AMAZING pastries I ever tasted - homemade and delicious! There’s a restaurant called Nonna Vittoria very close for dinner.

ItalyIt's so close to the train station you can see the train tracks right out of the window, hear all the noise, and feel the vibration. Windows closed, it muffles the sound quite a bit, so it's better, and you can sleep since at night there are way fewer trains. Regarding coming and going, it's convenient. Also, for such a basic accommodation, 120 euros feels very expensive, when compared to other solutions even in town. My priority was totally being close to Fiera so it was the solution.
Communication, check-in, comfort, and cleanliness were excellent. It was exactly what I needed for a single night in Milano in a place with rapid access to the Fiera, only 5 minutes away with the local train; it's the following stop. The room had a comfortable bed, a suitable working desk, a fridge, which was super helpful, and a clean toilet.

LatviaWhen we arrived, we paid the city tax in cash. They scanned our documents, and everything was normal. But when we checked out, there was a different person at the reception. He asked us to pay the tax again. He showed us some messages in Italian that said we didn’t pay. The staff didn’t speak English, so it was very hard to talk. It felt like they tried to trick us. Maybe that’s why they asked for cash, even if we could pay by card.

Austria1) it is a 1 star hotel. But 1 star should be a categorization for the facility equipment and service, not the overall state of the facility. The whole building is shabby and smelly, my room number 6 was right on the ground floor near the reception so all the guests coming in late at night shouting felt like they stood right beside my bed. 2) the building is right next to the train station and I was not aware how loud every single train coming through would be. 3) the room was equipped with a mobile heater that switched on and off every 15-30 minutes. So all in all, if there was no one shouting outside and no train rumbling past the room I had the pleasure to being kept awake by the heater. 4) the bed felt like a board that has been covered with a layer of foam. Uncomfortable as hell. 5) the rroom was run down, the shower was so disgusting and moldy that I didn't even want to step inside. The wall behind the wardrobe had mold on it too, a piece of plaster fell off the wall. The light switches were dirty and sticky. All in all it has been the worst place I ever had to spend a night in - and having been charged 98€ for this kind of accomodation is a bad joke! Absolutely disgusting place and would advise everyone to stay away.
The receptionist was friendly. But that's about it what I can say on a positive note. The rest of my stay was plain awful.
