How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The only thing for us was the shower, the overhead (rain) leaked and we had to use the hose instead

Verified reviewLoved my stay and would definitely come back. The room was clean, stylish, and super comfortable, with everything as advertised. The location is central and well-connected—close to the station, the historic center, and plenty of great restaurants. The view of Vesuvius from the master suite was unforgettable. While the building and surrounding area are a bit gritty, that’s part of Naples' charm.
Nothing!

Verified reviewOld world charm with excellent room amenities.
Obscure location despite being on a busy city corner. Sign and entrance were easily missed and took a while to find.

Verified reviewClean and spacious room. Friendly staff.
Elevator was tiny and very slow and old fashion (two doors one opens manually) and stops half floor off so you need to carry bags down stairs to reach your room. The entrance to the building is full with mosquitoes and very filthy.

Verified reviewThe owner Gian Luca was extremely helpful and friendly. He waited late for us, gave us a welcome Bellini and pastry, showed us all the features of our beautiful room, and gave us tips of where to go and what to see. The room was comfortable and quiet. Perfect. Complimentary breakfast was amazing. Angela, who arranged it, was delightful. We never write reviews and cannot recommend this property and the people associated with it highly enough.

Verified reviewThe location & room size
Our room was directly off the breakfast room (room 503), probably the worse room at the hotel. On arrival the lift was not working, I called the hotel and they sorted this; however that’s not a “luxury” experience. Breakfast was ok, very little amounts of muesli were offered, if you are into sweets for breakfast you’d be ok. The shower pressure was good but because of the pressure the nozzle of the shower came off each money so you were left with a hose to shower - that’s not luxury.
Ciao JoAnn, thank you for your review, despite severe because it helps us to improve. Regarding the elevator,we are working on it. Unfortunately the building inside we are is an historic one and there's an hotel/b&b at the 3/4/5 floor. Despite the cardboards in the elevator, many people don't close manually the door. If reception is working of course we help, otherwise we try doing our best even if we are not there as we did with you. But we're working on it.Regarding the breakfast it will be useful if you could also suggest how to improve the "salad side" also sending a private email. if the different salumi, cheese, bacon &wrustel, scramble/hard boiled eggs, veggies, olives and quiche were not enough. But we really want to improve, any suggestion is precious and well accepted. Also regarding the shower don't understand why you use the hand shower and not the big main one. When we saw you never mentioned it, we could have fix the problem on spot and right away. Have a wonderful day,Gisella

Verified reviewWe stayed in Suite 505 in April 2025. The location is very good, with a metro stop at the front door. The hotel is in a historic building, the entrance to which appears untidy and access is via a very small lift. The facilities in our suite were first class - very modern, tastefully furnished with a large comfortable bed. The bathroom was very spacious with a shower, separate bathtub, twin hand basins and a bidet. Our Suite had a large tv which swivelled round so you could watch in bed or from the separate lounge area. The front desk is operational 8am to 4pm daily and we found Gisella very welcoming and gave lots of helpful information. You can also contact Gisella by WhatsApp which we found helpful. Breakfast was good, and although the selection was modest, the quality was high.
The only downside we found was the lift. It's an old lift in an old building, so scope for improvements are limited. The issue is if someone doesn't manually shut the door on the 5th floor, the lift can't come down to collect you at ground level. If this happens when the front desk isn't staffed (after 4pm) you have no option other than to climb 5 flights of stairs. This happened to us 3 times in our 5 day stay.
Ciao Gregor and thank you so much for your review! I assure we are working on it, the time to received all the necessary authorization! Thanks for staying with us! Gisella
