Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s very attractive and although close to Palau it’s not actually in the town so it’s possible to park easily and have access to the swimming pool.

NetherlandsTo reach the rooms, you also have to climb quite a few stairs, so keep that in mind. The first lady at the reception in the morning was not friendly. When I asked if I could stay one more day, she said the hotel was fully booked, but the room was still available on Booking.com. Also, the rooms are very noisy—you can hear a lot from neighboring rooms.
I stayed here without a car. It was a 30-minute walk to the port of Palau, which was manageable if you're used to walking. There was a small uphill section with a suitcase, though. Nice swimming pool and friendly staff at the poolside restaurant.

United KingdomMy booking.com details were breached. Hotel knew this but didn’t warn me, so be warned now! 1 lady on reception was very helpful. The other was the opposite. Couldn’t be more unhelpful. Tried her hardest to ignore me for 10 mins. Couldn’t get a drink from the bar at 8pm as no one came to serve us. Such a shame. This could be a wonderful hotel with some really simple changes, but as it stands it’s very over priced for a very basic stay. Shame, as I was really looking forward to this hotel. It was ok for our few nights, but couldn’t have made this our entire holiday stay.
This is a lovely 2* with a small pool. Not 4*. Designed to be rustic it’s a lovely idea, but only the public areas are fresh & tidy. The little bungalows are up narrow streets of steps, dingy, unpainted, bags of rubbish & linen left outside “checked out” rooms all day until collected at 4. Dead plants trailing around & entrance to your bungalow is blocked by a large clothes airer- as that’s your only outside space - width of your door. All looks uncared for. The rooms are small, cute, with no extras. Very basic. The breakfast was good & plentiful. Pool was small but adequate. Location is stunning. Overlooking the sea & Le Maddelena island. With a fantastic walk through wonderful rock formations just up the hill. 20 min walk into Palau.

MaltaWhen we arrived to the ‘hotel’ which is more like guesthouses, the reception stank of cigarettes. Upon entering our room the smell of cigarettes was so bad we had to open all windows hoping it would clear but it was even in the walls! I have never complained for change of room but asked if it was possible. The receptionist said there were non available. I asked if since we didn’t want to sleep for a whole nice in this smell as it was uncomfortable if we could have our money back and find another hotel if there were available in the area. When discussing with the manager she said it’s not possible and an aperitivo would be given as an inconvenience for sleeping one night in this room until they clear another room the next day😖 I do not feel like giving an aperitivo for a night sleeping in cigarettes which cost €150 per night is good customer service. After trying to discuss with the manager for 5 minutes, I asked if at least one day could be deducted for the inconvenience, she still said no! This hotel unfortunately prefers taking money rather than seeing that clients have a fair comfortable experience. Apart from that this is not 4 star. Definitely not. The day after was ok, apart from the manager the staff is very nice, and breakfast was decent. I would not recommend paying 150 per night for this place.
The only nice thing about the property is their breakfast.

ItalyThe pool area was not offering food. They purposely rent a room without air conditioning and we had to sleep 1 night with fan - which we found already in the room. So we assumed they knew already about the issue. We needed to push to have a solution found

NetherlandsWe were very nicely and warmly welcomed by the host! She was available at any point in time to give us recommendations and help us out when we had some car troubles. Also upon arrival she surprised us with a very nice upgrade! The accommodation was clean and nice to stay at. The location is a bit out of town so a car is recommended (which you can easily park near your room) but we loved being out of the city center and surrounded by nature, and having a spectacular view on Palau and Maddalena.

SwitzerlandI made by mistake a double booking for two nights (2 rooms instead of 1). Although the mistake was discovered at the check-in at an early hour and the hotel at these nights finally was fully booked (incl. my superfluous room) I did not get any refund. Hence I had to pay our stay twice and lost nearly $ 200. Watch out while booking this hotel.
Everything was okay except of what happened with my booking.

United KingdomLocation was horrible - google map really underestimates how long it takes to go to the city centre (about 25-30 minutes by walking). My friend and I didn’t rent a car, so it was very hard to get anywhere. Taxi companies in this town are incompetent and barely have any available drivers. It would’ve been nice if the hotel provided a shuttle service to the city sentry every hour or so. There were insane amount of flies in our room, and the mini fridge was room temperature (or even warmer). But besides that, people working at the hotel were super friendly and nice!
It was clean and had a pool outside. Our room had an AC which was a lifesaver in the Italian summer.
