How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

As stated, great place to stay for a few nights
Nice place to stay, on the edge on main town, but only a short 5-7min walk. Not much in local area, no bar, restaurant

The place did not have Air Conditioning and thus it was difficult to sleep with +28C at night.
The place is well located in the city centre, just a 10 minute walk from the public parking garage Arsenal and just 5 minutes walk from the Arena di Verona. It was clean and the owner was helpful and communicated well. The breakfast was in the nearby pastry shop with good coffee.

The location was unbeatable, right next to the Adige river and in the heart of the historic city centre. The breakfast was delicious! The host was very helpful.

I can’t say the room was extremely clean…I’d suggest a bit of dusting and floor wiping….
The staff is super friendly and really helpful. Breakfast is great (it is not at the location, but at a local pasticceria nearby which has wonderful croissants and more). The location is just perfect.

Oversells itself re rooms having a view - unless you like looking at a pavement. Glossy pictures of food somewhat misleading - no food offered. Coffee machine in the room but no replacement capsules provided over a three day stay.

it is very noisy at night, the window from the room is on the high of footpaths so you can't open the window.
perfect location to visit city, very friendly staff, the breakfast was very good.

There was a bit of noise on the street which was bothersome during the evening but everything got quiet when it came time to go to sleep.
The breakfast was a ticket to a local bar/cafe. The owner was the key to this place. The room was basic but the owner was more than friendly and helpful. It seemed as if he really wanted his guests to have a good time.

The host is very friendly and he gave us a map of the city and explained the good places to visit and explore. He made sure, we had all the ready for us in the room before we arrived e.g. cleanliness, water bottles, tea coffee, bathroom sleepers, etc. It is very close to the city center and walkable in 5 mins.

The location is very central and close to many attractions, shopping and food/drink options. It's a inexpensive option if you're on a budget/not looking for too many creature comforts and has everything you need for a short stay in Verona. We felt safe and it was great for our 2 nights in Verona visiting a friend.

The wifi barely worked, so we had to use our mobile data instead
The location is amazing and the staff are very friendly. The room is well ventilated using the windows. Food recommendations were great.

Very welcoming. Great simple description of what to see and do in Verona. Hotel Trocolo food was just gorgeous- truffle pasta! Very very convenient for the opera! Good value for money. The breakfast was fantastic!

The bedroom was shabby, dated furniture and needed decorating. There was dirty head marks on walls behind bed.
The location was brilliant, we was in walking distance to anything needed. We only got a bus/taxi to and from train station. The room had everything we needed ( fridge, kettle) great shower. the room was very dark but was great at the time of our visit as it was really hot. The ceiling fan was brilliant better than some aircon’s. There was a lovely park just outside overlooking the river. Breakfast was vouchers from 2 local cafes just 2 minutes walk around the corner which was a drink and pastry 🥐.
